One of the best places to study architecture in India.
Placements: If you are into placements, then please don't choose architecture. Placements are average here; you can expect 4 to 5 LPA. But after a few years of experience, you can be at 10 to 12 LPA. We do have a placement cell but that is not that active at bringing high-paying companies up to this point in time.
Infrastructure: Everything here is top-notch. The campus is less than 10 years old, so most of the amenities are considered quite modern. Our hostel has a warm water facility and it is also cleaned regularly. We can have coolers installed in our rooms but that will include electricity costs. The best part is that each room has a balcony between the rooms for double occupancy and we have communal washrooms. The mess is managed by the students for the students so you can expect good-quality food here. We have a new academic block this year and that building is very beautiful to study in. Our campus has a fast 450 mbps connection in college but only 150 mbps of Wi-Fi in our hostels. The library is small considering the size of the campus, but we have good access to leading online journals. The best part about our campus is that we have no restrictions on entry and exist in our hostels. Any student can work and go to the classroom at any time. We have a good workshop facility and we can do whatever we want there but the only downside is that for using power tools, we need to have permission. Apart from that, other labs are heavily equipped, be they graphic or GIS labs. Compared to other colleges, we are getting far superior labs.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified; most of them are practicing architects and have a good number of projects under their name. They are highly knowledgeable and are very supportive when it comes to learning. Most of them have more than 10 years of experience; you can expect the best teachers in our nation to teach here. The curriculum is very hectic. Some of us have mental breakdowns due to work loads. That is why I am not giving it 5 stars. We work like animals here; day and night, you will see us working in our studios and hostel rooms. And the curriculum is the reason. But it will make you ready for the industry. Our alumni are highly respected, both by us and by the other architects, simply because we are extremely hardworking and dedicated to our job. The semester exams are mostly hilly except for a few subjects like history of architecture and structures. There are one or two students every semester who get the year back. So be very careful and study tight.
Other: The reason I chose this course is because of my love for building. I like seeing unique and beautiful buildings, and I want to design my own house. That is why I chose this course. I was deep into pursuing design, which is why I am here. Also, you can travel a lot while you're here. The best thing about this course is that you can build whatever you can imagine. Its like painting but in 3D. I wish to lower our work loads and also want to have a more practical approach to learning than a theoretical one. Our campus is a very happening place; we have people from every part of the nation and that is the strength of the institution, and you can see every festival from each and every state. We have an event every other second week and that keeps us from getting bored. But the downside is that there is groupism here and people generally divide themselves based on language.

It is a decent college for students.
Placements: There are no placements in this course. But studying here will help you produce a good portfolio for recruitment. A good portfolio is a result of personal efforts and development.
Infrastructure: The hostels are decent for a government college. The food quality is better. We have a gym facility in this college. Sports are conducted. Our campus is Wi-Fi enabled. A special washing room is available in the hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified. Few of them are not knowledgeable. The course curriculum is decent. The attendance system is very strict.
Other: The course itself requires a lot of effort so do not pick it unless you are planning to work for it.

2Placements3Infrastructure2Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Placements are poor, faculty is okayish at best, hostels are good, and infrastructure is okay.
Placements: Only a few students get placed every year as there are very few jobs in architecture, the recruiting companies pay very little, the working hours are very high, and there is no work-life balance. The only way out is to start your own firm. Most students pursue Masters either in planning or go abroad rather than getting placed.
Infrastructure: The hostels are very good; the rooms are big, clean, and adequately maintained; the bathrooms are below average, as there is only one washroom per 30 rooms; every room has a balcony; the mess is in the hostel itself; there is a badminton court, a table tennis table, and a TV in the common. Wi-Fi is okay at best, with speeds ranging from 1 to 60 mbps, depending on the location of your room. Sports facilities are pretty poor. The basketball court is okay, as is the badminton court, but except for that, nothing is taken care of. The football field is small and never has grass. The cricket ground is unusable for more than half of the academic year, and the other volleyball court is substandard. The library is very small, and the selection of books is also underwhelming. The new academic block is very far from the hostels and very inefficient; the old academic block is always filled with Masters students.
Faculty: The difficulty of the semester depends on the faculty you get; there are some egoistic teachers who will put you back a year without a second thought, and there are teachers who will pass you with good marks even when you do just the bare minimum. Life is hectic during the semester with endless submissions. The schedule is tightly paced; you barely get time for extracurricular activities. Half of the teachers are employed just because someone from their family is already teaching here; nepotism in teaching positions is insanity. Husbands, wives, and cousins of teachers are very common. The teachers here are a bit ruthless as an independent institute, and they do what they want.
Other: Events are not the best as the strength of the college is < 1000. There is a very large involvement of faculty and their families as the campus is in a remote location and there is nothing else that their family has to pass their time with. Overall, events are underwhelming and not on par with other larger colleges.

Review of SPA Bhopal - School of Planning and Architecture.
Placements: The application process for jobs has to be carried out by the students alone. The training and placement cell is not that great with finding good job opportunities for the students. The graduates are hired as fresher architects. But I would say the SPA tag adds to having you stand out in the market.
Infrastructure: The hostels are very spacious and very clean. 2 people share a room in the hostel. The infrastructure of the academic block is still under construction. We study in the amenities block. The mess food is amazing. Labs are well-equipped. The library is one of the best ones in terms of architecture and planning in the country. The GIS lab is lit. There is a 3D printing set up along with a laser cutting facility for students to access for free.
Faculty: The liking for faculty is very subjective. Overall, they are decent but like in any other college. You need to put in your effort to pave a path for yourself. It's more of self-study and self-learning. Semester exams are good. Juries can be hard for finals.
Other: Architecture can transform the lives of people and add value to their everyday happenings. The course is a rollercoaster ride. It's intense as the years roll by. But one thing that's most important to develop for any person is an understanding of spaces, people, and their needs. If that's there, then even complicated problems can be solved out. The curriculum requires a strong sense and understanding of structures. Additionally, software knowledge is a must, be it for drafting, making models, rendering, or compiling. Anyone choosing this curriculum should develop a habit of reading books and watching talks to enhance their core knowledge. One thing I wish could be better was the inclusion of compulsory internship/hands-on experience work every semester for a month or so, whatever we learn could be seen being executed. The college environment is amazing. The one thing that made such a difficult course bearable was the people and communities. Many fests and events are held here throughout the year. There are central and state scholarships offered to the students of reserved and weaker sections. I don't regret joining here.

School of planning and architecture bhopal
Placements: Placements depends on the portfolio and mainly on the works that you've done already If you have skills on AutoCAD and other systamatic works you'll be considered on top of others. Students who have been good at academics and in overall performances can be noticed and can get good placement as per recommendations
Infrastructure: Wifi, labs, library everything is available and its an architecture college so the infrastructure is obviously good. The quality of food in mess depends on the vendor who is in the control at that time. An infirmary and every sports is appreciated, so there is that facilities also Badminton court Football ground Cricket ground Basketball court.
Faculty: Majority Faculties in the college have completed their PhDs in several good Universities. So they are good at teaching as well as interacting with the students. Semester exams are not that difficult because its architecture, your works only matters when comes to end of semester.
Other: Architecture is the best course to show your creative abilities as well as mental abilities. Coming to the campus life, students can have good interaction with people because all the students will there only in the campus, day scholars are not allowed, students should stay in college hostel. All the festivals from all over india will be celebrated, because students from all over india is studying there therefore students can know about all the cultures.
