Strong Academics and Supportive Faculty with Vibrant Campus Life, but More Industry-Relevant Focus
Placements: If you’re considering joining the BA Hons Sanskrit program at St. Stephen’s, placement-wise, it’s quite promising. Approximately 60-70% of students secure placements, and the average salary package ranges from 4-12 lakhs per annum. Realistically, you can expect to earn around 7-8 lakhs. The program attracts top recruiters from esteemed organizations such as NCERT, NGOs, and publishing houses. Additionally, about half of the class lands internships with renowned companies like ICCR and other cultural organizations. Graduates typically secure roles in teaching, content writing, research, or working with cultural institutions.
Infrastructure: The facilities at St. Stephen's are pretty good. The classrooms are well-maintained, and the Wi-Fi is reliable enough for research and general use. The college library is one of the best parts. It got a great collection of books, including plenty of resources for Sanskrit studies, and it's a nice space to study or just hang out. As for the hostel, the rooms are decent, nothing fancy, but comfortable. The food in the mess and canteen is pretty standard—not amazing, but it gets the job done. You'll get a mix of options, and they try to keep it varied. Medical facilities are on campus, so if you need basic healthcare, it's taken care of. Sports and games are a big deal at Stephen's, with plenty of options to get involved in. There's a gym, basketball court, football field, and more if you're into sports. Overall, the infrastructure supports both academics and extracurriculars well.
Faculty: The teachers in the Sanskrit department at St. Stephen's are very helpful, well-qualified, and definitely knowledgeable. Most of them are experts in their fields and approachable if you need any guidance. The teaching quality is solid, with a good balance between lectures and discussions. The curriculum is well-structured and gives you a deep understanding of the subject. While it focuses more on traditional and academic knowledge, it still offers some relevance to modern applications, especially if you're looking into research, teaching, or cultural work. That said, it may not be as directly industry-focused as some other courses, but it does prepare you for further studies or specialized roles. The semester exams aren't too tough if you've been keeping up with the classes and reading, but they do require a thorough understanding of the material. The pass percentage is generally high, around 85-90%, so most students do well if they put in the effort.
Other: I chose the BA Hons Sanskrit course because I've always had a strong interest in classical languages and culture. Plus, St. Stephen's has a reputation for academic excellence, so it felt like the right place to pursue this passion. The best things about the course are the in-depth exploration of Sanskrit literature, philosophy, and history, and the fact that the professors are really supportive and knowledgeable. It's also a small, tight-knit department, so you get more personalized attention. That said, I do wish the course had more modern applications or connections to industries outside of academia, like language technology or even more practical research projects. More workshops or internships related to contemporary fields would be great additions. As for campus life, Stephen's is famous for its fests and events. Crossroads is the biggest fest, and it's a lot of fun. The campus crowd is diverse and engaging, with lots of people involved in extracurriculars. The campus itself is beautiful, with old buildings and greenery all around. Connectivity to the rest of Delhi is great, as you're close to metro stations and bus stops. There are plenty of scholarships available too, especially for students who need financial assistance. And if you're into extracurriculars, Stephen's has everything—from sports teams to debating societies, theater groups, and more. There's always something happening on campus!

Really good and reputed college, don't miss the chance!
Placements: Half of the class was placed in consulting, investment banking, and marketing fields. The highest package is 23 LPA, and the lowest is 10 LPA. Many students got internships from my class, like at DE Shaw, JSW, and many more companies. The top roles are analyst and investment banking analyst.
Infrastructure: The course is good, with a lot to learn from good teachers. The infrastructure is okayish, and renovations are ongoing in college. Wi-Fi doesn’t work that great, but classrooms are getting renovated. The college hostel is fine, though not that great, and the mess food is adjustable.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable, with good teaching quality. Yes, the course curriculum is perfect; it makes students fit for work with great knowledge. Semester exams are pretty easy, as Delhi University sets them, and the pass percentage was ninety-nine percent this time.

Review of St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi.
Placements: The placement cell of St. Stephen's College is quite active. They provide internship offers throughout the year. You get to choose from a plethora of options. By the time you are in your final year of graduation, you tend to think about the next step, and that's when placements come in. Placements in St. Stephen's College are quite good and inclusive of all courses. It's just that those from mathematics and economics backgrounds have a better chance of getting placed than others. The majority of companies come looking for the position of analysts etc. English Honours students don't quite fit in. Most of them don't really opt for placements as they continue their higher education. In my batch of B.A. (Hons) English. None of them took college placements except one girl. However, if you are really looking for one, you will get companies like Inshorts, Yokurt, etc., which are usually looking for content writers and offer placements. The maximum salary offered is 5-6 lacs per annum. You should know content writing is a very low-paid job. If you wish to change your stream and have done internships in multiple MNCs, then the choices for you really widen because we also have companies like Boston Legal, Deloitte, McKinsey etc. The usual job positions offered for English Honours students specifically are usually content writing, copywriting, editing, and proofreading.
Infrastructure: Whatever facilities you can think of, the college has it. It has Wi-Fi, labs, IRC, classrooms, Stephen's hospital, junior common room, senior common room, mess, library, sports ground, basketball field, lawns, hostels, everything. Hostels are given only for outstation students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. There are two cafes in college which provide basic food. It has only improved over the years and now includes even momos and burgers. There is a photocopy shop for students and even SBI Bank and ATM on the campus. The classrooms are mostly air-conditioned. You have beautiful lawns to sit in during winters and pet the dogs. The lush-green environment is truly mesmerizing.
Faculty: St Stephen's houses one of the most qualified faculty members of the country. One of the best things about this college is the student-professor relationship. They are ever-ready to guide you, not just in your professional career but also in your personal lives. The pedagogy is a truly in-depth, knowledge-enriching exercise. We have a system of tutorials where students meet in small groups with their teachers and discuss books or anything outside the syllabus. This helps cover more the what's prescribed. The course curriculum which St Stephen's follows is the one prescribed by Delhi University. Of course, there's always room for improvement, but it's mostly well-rounded and contemporary.
Other: I chose this course because of my love for studying English Literature, and I truly had the time of my life here. Some papers which I studied in the course of 3 years were quite phenomenal. The teachers, the society activities, the discussions with academicians called from outside helps in having an overall development. In the course of three years, I met Montek Singh Ahluwalia, P. Chidambaram, Akhil Katyal and many famous personalities. You will get ample opportunities to take part in debate competitions, paper presentations, and research writing. The college offers scholarships to the best. Those who perform well academically have a high chance of getting scholarships. We have a fest in March. It's popularly known as Harmony. We have games, dance, prom nights, DJ nights, etc., during this time. One sad thing about this is that it's a closed fest, meaning outsiders aren't allowed. So, it's boring. But if you are someone who hates the crowd, then Harmony is your fest. After three years, you will be sent off from college with a graduation ceremony and graduation dinner. You will be every bit nostalgic and grateful for having studied in one of the most premier institutions of India.

One of the best college of north campus DU.
Placements: I don't know much about placements as I am the first year student but I have worked with campus placement cell so I know few of the top recruiters. Name of few to recruiting companies are McKenzie and company, TCS, BCC, Teach for India, Times of India etc.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is quite good. Its above average, not best, but quite good. Currently our classes are online, so cant say much about hostel and college infrastructure but as much I have heard of it, its above average and its better than most of the du colleges.
Faculty: Course faculty is one of the best in all over India. And course curriculum is also apt as required. B.A. programme course is not a professional course so don't expect much higher placements but for civil services exam and other government exams this course is best.

I am satisfied. Placement scenario is not great, and most students opt for higher studies.
Placements: Major top companies like McKinsey, Brain, Kearney and Accenture come to our college. This year because of Covid, placement scenario has been less promising in terms of the number of students hired as compared to other years. Generally, the salary package offered is around 12-15 LPA for front-end consulting roles and IB roles, and the average salary package offered is 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. However, hostels are not great. There is not enough variety in the cafeteria, and the price is also high. The college has a gymnasium, and sports and games are encouraged. The library is good, and we get access to the latest editions of good journals and magazines.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and well-knowledgeable. However, the curriculum is not much relevant at certain places, so Delhi University should update it. The curriculum doesn't immediately make students job-ready, but other opportunities like working in societies, etc., gives you that exposure.

It is the best college for the research field and the faculty members and environment is best.
Placements: The placements in research fields are the most and many reputed institutions came to recruit our students. Average salary package is around 6 to 7 Lacs and still the process is going on. It is best college in terms of practical college and all over personal development.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is classic plus extraordinary with all facilities. Hostels are the perfect with mess provides fresh and tasty food. Whole campus has Wi-Fi facility with big sports grounds for cricket, football, basketball court, etc. For all the time medical staff is present in the college.
Faculty: The faculty members are very highly qualified from good institutions and all are Ph.D. holders in various fields and have deep knowledge of subjects. The interaction with them can really make your career bright and you can go into the research field also if you are interested. The course curriculum is thoroughly revised every year and it is flexible and has liquidity and we have no difficulty with it.
