B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) - Batch of 2025

Institutional Politics and Scam.
Placements: Since there was only placements for less than 6, only about 20 students. The lowest is 15,000 per month and the highest is 4 LPA. Top companies were Mizigo, TCS, Poornam, Sutherland, etc. I don't really know if anyone got an internship, and the top role for my course is AM/ML Engineer.
Infrastructure: 15 computers with i5 11th gen, other computers are below that, no Wi-Fi, computers are connected using Ethernet. Quality in the hostel is okay, but hostel food is below average, no medical facilities, and does not give support on any sports. The library of the college is average.
Faculty: It was okay a couple of years ago, now I don't think there are students passing exams based on the class given by teachers, since more than 90% of teachers are new ones. There is no proper teaching of coding or anything; everyone is by-hearting everything. Hard to pass for exams.

One of the best colleges in Kerala, completely satisfied with the college atmosphere.
Placements: The college assures 100% placement for every student who successfully completed the course without backlogs. Packages range from 1 lakh to 6 lakh per annum. Top recruiters are TCS, MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, etc. More than 75% of students got their internship.
Infrastructure: The college provides high-quality education, and for supporting this, high-tech facilities have been administered. The hostel food and rooms are decent. Computer labs have the latest facilities and are fully air-conditioned. Good study atmosphere and friendly faculty members.
Faculty: The department faculty members are well-educated and trained in their respective subjects, and their ability to channel the knowledge is very good. The curriculum contains subjects that are relevant, and semester exams are competitive with a pass percentage of 60%.
Other: The college offers annual cultural events, tech fests, sports activities, industrial visits, and also celebrates all regional festivals.

Dissatisfied due to poor academics and placements, but really enjoyed campus life.
Placements: Almost 75-80% of students were placed in my college. The lowest package offered was INR 2,00,000, and the highest was INR 4,00,000. Companies like SOTI, Sutherland, UST, Datapy, TCS, and Poornam visited for recruitment. Some of my batchmates also got placements with higher packages. The college provided internships.
Infrastructure: The campus life and facilities were good. The overall infrastructure was well-maintained. The department and lab facilities were good, and the classrooms were well-equipped. The hostel provided clean rooms and surroundings, with good food and accommodation.
Faculty: Faculty members were really helpful, with some being well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was quite good. However, the curriculum was outdated and needs improvement as it doesn't always support future job prospects. Initially, semester gaps were short, making exams difficult, but it improved later.
Other: I chose the course because of the high future job scope in computer science. I was also interested in coding. The college events, fest, and campus life, along with friends’ experiences, were also deciding factors.

Absolutely a good campus to build your career.
Placements: 121 students were placed. The highest package was 7 LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies are WIPRO, INFOSYS, BYJU'S, TCS, TECH MAHINDRA, SOTI, AARBEE, POORNAM, TECHNOLAB, HCL. Many students got internships both inside and outside India. The college provides well-balanced facilities to all the students.
Infrastructure: The labs are well-equipped with proper training. The libraries are good and contain many books to refer to. The quality of the facilities in our hostel is much better compared to other colleges. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen, medical facilities, and sports and games are excellent.
Faculty: 100% helpful teaching and other staff. The faculty members are knowledgeable and know how to teach the portions. Yes, the curriculum is relevant but needs some updates with the new technologies. The semester exams are happening with a few days gap, so it is hard for the students to learn.

Average in everything, very poor at supporting sports and other events, mess food is bad.
Placements: 100 percent of students are placed, but call center jobs are more. The lowest package is 3 Lacs, and the highest package was 15 Lacs. Tech Mahindra is the top recruiting company. 100% of students have internships in many companies across Kochi. No roles are offered.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are of average quality. Facilities in the hostel are also of average quality. Mess food, medical facilities, and sports and games facilities are all very poor, with no support from the college, especially for sports. Canteen food is of average quality.
Faculty: Teachers are of good quality, helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. This does not make us industry-ready, and they are not trying to make us industry-ready but preparing us to pass the semester exams. Semester exams are of average difficulty, with a 69% pass percentage.
Other: The college is very poor at granting funds for events.

St. Thomas: The Journey Within.
Placements: Our batch faced a shortage of recruiters due to government and policy changes, which affected our placements. The top package offered was INR 5.4 LPA, while the lowest was INR 2 LPA. Companies like TCS, UST Global, and Sutherland were the top recruiters.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was impressive with many good facilities. However, the curriculum was outdated, which is a concern as it doesn't prepare students for the industry, requiring self-preparation to fill the gaps.
Faculty: The teachers were knowledgeable and supportive, but many followed traditional teaching methods, which sometimes made learning tough. However, a few teachers used innovative methods. Semester exams were moderate and could be managed well with self-study.
Other: I chose this course because of my passion for coding and computers. However, the curriculum needs a complete overhaul with modern methods. Events, fests, and other activities were good, but management didn’t provide much support for them, focusing mainly on studies.
