Absolutely satisfied with faculty. Average placements.

Placements: Placements were good in economics and statistics but placements weren't that great for mass media and were not 100 percent. The highest was 10 lakhs offered by Citibank and the lowest around 3 lakhs. E&Y also came. The internship was compulsory but we need to find it on our own.

Xavier's: The way of life.

Placements: There is a placement cell on campus. Offers also come from alumni and faculty networks. Placements are from premier companies like Dentsu, Google, Star Network and Godrej Industries. A lot of students opt out of placements though to pursue further studies. Some companies offer integrated work+ study options too. There are international opportunities as well.

Once a Xavierian, always a Xavierian.

Placements: Placement was not 100%. Some students did further studies. 30% got placed in production houses. Some got married and some changed their subject. We visited Hindustan Paper, Ramoji Film City and production houses during our bachelors period. We made documentaries, PSA, short film, news bulletin and many other audio video productions.

Best for masters in biotechnology.

Placements: For M.Sc. in biotechnology, we did not have any direct campus interviews or placements. However, some recruiters contacted us indirectly through our HOD and the college placement cell. The average salary offered would be 5-6 lacs p.a. The companies generally included scientific writing, pharmaceutical and biotechnology-based firms. As a part of our fourth semester, we were supposed to complete a four-month internship in any reputed research institute. Generally, the students of our stream are n...

This college is worth the time and money.

Placements: Placements here are good. Big brands like Google, Wipro, etc come for placements. For the senior batch, the packages offered went from 3 LPA to 9 LPA.

Opting between Xaviers and Delhi University, what can your criterion be.

Placements: Placements occur throughout the year, and offers are rewarded to all the streams. McKinsey recruits from Xavier's, and eco-stats is the most sort after by recruiters. 20% of the batch got placed. Most offers range from 2 to 10 lacs. Except for McKinsey, the roles are offered as Analysts mostly.

St. Xavier's is quiet strict compared to other colleges, but I guess it's necessary to maintain discipline and the brand. I have mixed reviews for this college. The fee structure is quite good. The placements are also good but not as good as other colleges in Delhi and Mumbai. Faculty in Xavier's is really great. Overall. it's 7 out of 10 for me.

The college ambience is too good. The college library is having a lot of space and filled with no. of books of different categories. The faculty members are too experienced and have a lot of knowledge in their respective subjects. The canteen of the college is neat and are having hygienic food with a reasonable prices of their food products.

However, something about which students often crib is that the campus is small as compared to other b-schools. There is also no available ground for outdoor activities such as cricket and football, forcing students to be content with indulging in indoor sports. The college has comfortable classrooms. The professors at this b-school are strict when it comes to academics and students are permitted late admission up to five minutes post the commencement of the class. The college canteen offers a wi...

This is a college for enjoyment. It gave many value based things to my life. We can't forget those days. Especially cultural, it’s the highlight of it. I did UG there. English literature is one of the best subjects in the college. There are lots of fun and clubs to be active all those days.

St Xavier's college, Kolkata is one of the best commerce colleges in India. The best part of this college is that the B.Com (h) course starts early at 6 am and gets over by 9.50 am and thus, you get lot of ample time to concentrate on your studies. The institution has really renowned professors and I am 100% sure that if you get a chance to study in this college, you will have disciplinary skills and your leadership quality will certainly improve. It is a compact knowledge hub and is located at the heart of the city. The college carries a good reputation when it's about campus life and facilities. The infrastructure is comparatively small, but more than enough for a student to grow and nurture in knowledge as well as personality development. The staff is average and the institution supports and encourages a lot of co-curricular activities which is very much required for a student to stand and survive in the upcoming competition of the out...

The library hosts a variety of books ranging from graduation level to any kind of competitive examination. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and are smart classes. The canteen lacks tie-ups with branded chains like CCD's and Barista. The faculty consists of highly qualified people like Harish Mukherjee, whose accounting books are followed everywhere. We organise inter college management fests where events like X-Confero are held and which spans for 2-3 days. College organised cultur...

It is a very good college. The Professors are very helpful. Nice food at canteen. Classes are interactive in nature and are a healthy mix of formal lectures, case studies and presentations. Tests are conducted on a regular basis which can be both, planned as well as surprise in nature. Although surprise tests are not very common but students try and stay as up-to-date as possible in subjects such as botany where you won't know when your knowledge is put to test. Students are not given any handou...
