Q:   Is pursuing B.Sc at SDSOS, Mumbai expensive?

A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Nursee Monjee Institute of Business Studies is deemed to be university. It has obtained Grade 1 certification from UGC. This means academics and other systems of this university are excellent. SDSOS is affiliated/ part of this university. This means excellent in academics and all allied issues. On top of it, it's located in one of the costliest suburbs of Mumbai i.e. Vileparle. Considering all these parameters, fees of about 2L  per annum in Mumbai campus is not much. It's very reasonable. However living expenses will be quite a bit if compared with even a district place in Maharashtra. In that respect yes, pursuing BSc would be expensive but it still is reasonable and not excessive.

Best wishes to you.

Absolutely the worst college and faculty.
Placements: I would not recommend this college because it has no scope for placement and no provisions for a proper placement cell. We will have to search for internships on our own, and there is no formal training provided for them. There is one internship department that generally does not provide more than two or three internships for a batch of 190 students.
Infrastructure: We had to sit in the old and shabby Mithibai building, which has bad classrooms that stink. The college Wi-Fi does not work most of the time, and other facilities are almost nonexistent except for a huge library that has some resources available from time to time. Overall, the college is very overcrowded.
Faculty: The faculty is absolutely bad and underqualified. They are usually recent Masters graduates who have no teaching experience at all. They are supposed to teach second year graduates. Their clarity of concepts and teaching style are not consistent. In addition, they never complete the portion on time.

Definitely recommended if you're serious about pursuing Psychology.
Placements: The course doesn't offer placements as there are limited opportunities with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Most students opt for further studies and support is provided for that. The course does have a compulsory summer internship after 2nd year that gives on-field practical experience to the students.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are quite good. The classes have air conditioning, smart boards, and charging points. Classrooms are big and spacious and Wi-Fi is provided as well. The library is quite average, although you can get access to Turnitin and printing services. The campus is not that big and facilities for sports don't exist on the campus although off-campus outdoor sporting events are held sometimes by the Sports Committee. The food quality in the canteen is average, there is only one cafeteria with fairly limited options.
Faculty: The faculty is excellent, they are extremely helpful, approachable, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is great for most classes and the faculty provides support beyond academic hours as well. The course curriculum is highly relevant and the course is quite academically rigorous. It prepares the student well for pursuing their Masters and gives exposure and introduction to various fields in Psychology. The semester exams are fairly tough but the faculty is very helpful so the pass percentage is pretty high. Most students "fail" due to attendance shortage.
Other: I chose this course because of the course content and structure. I wanted something rigorous and challenging academically and I don't regret my choice, it gave me a thorough idea of what I want to do in the future. The best thing for me is definitely the quality of the faculty, they have been extremely supportive. One thing I would improve is the attendance policy, it is really strict, students have to maintain 80% which can be really tough sometimes. There are lots of fests organized throughout the year by different committees and clubs on campus that can be fun to participate in. The campus crowd has all sorts of people, it might take some time to find your people but eventually you do.

Bad placements, underqualified faculty, good course structure.
Placements: Not many good opportunities were given, and the system of working was very consistent. As it is a fairly new course, the issue might be due to a lack of connections. It was handled by students rather than teachers, which was really surprising.
Infrastructure: You have to sit in the Mithibai building; the classrooms have broken ceilings, the ACs don’t work sometimes, and you have to sit in a room with no ventilation for lectures. They don’t have enough space to conduct extracurricular activities, which was disappointing.
Faculty: The curriculum is great, but the faculty is highly underqualified compared to what was promised. Exams are tough, and the portion is rigorous, which is not met by the teachers most of the time. They have to hurry through it and don’t deliver the quality that was promised.

It is a decent college and very good with study perspective.
Placements: I am still pursuing the course, so I have no knowledge about placements. And there are just 2 batches of this course, so even my seniors don't know about it, there is just one senior batch so not much knowledge. As per my knowledge, this course will have assured placements.
Infrastructure: It is too small, and corridors are small, not very happening place. Just a building dumped with labs. The laboratories are very good, all the materials are there. The classrooms are fine. The Wi-Fi facility is decent.
Faculty: Decent teachers are available, some are really good some are bad. But you'll get enough knowledge on every subject. The teachers are helpful. Dean is also very nice will help at each stage. The teaching methods they use are presentations and blackboard. The teachers will send you the PPT notes to study.
Other: The events are organised rarely and campus crowd is very less, not much interactive.

Pretty satisfied, great faculty and good infrastructure!
Placements: This course is new in this college, with my batch being the 2nd batch ever which hasn't passed out yet. But as far as the internships are concerned, the college has a good faculty team that helps you to find the appropriate internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university is pretty good, with big lecture halls, comfortable seats, a food court, and other activity rooms. There is a well-established medical faculty to help students in need on the campus and there are grounds as well for sports. The hostel on the other hand is far from the main building and isn't good enough. I and my other batch mates will look for PG outside the college or will rest in an apartment.
Faculty: The teachers in my course are well qualified, from renowned universities within India as well as abroad. A few of them are even practicing psychologists who are very efficient with their work. They are very understanding as well. Most of the teachers will help you anytime you need them with the curriculum and course. The subjects being focused in the course are pretty extensive and useful in the journey of applied psychology with a lot of practical knowledge and field study given. They also give fun homework that is not just theory based but involves a lot of real life problem solving. The sem-end exams are somewhat on the medium level of difficulty. Everything was related from what was taught but in a good practical manner.
Other: I've always been interested in the field of study, and considering the college was giving B.Sc. Applied Psychology which deals with a lot more practical and practicing aspects of Psychology as compared to B.A. Thus, I went with this particular course. The best thing about my course is all the practical knowledge given to us, such as they made us conduct research, interview, etc. This is something, every psychology student must know. Something which could improve would be the repetitiveness of the topics in different subjects. They taught us the same topics in different subjects which gets a little monotonous. Otherwise, the university has a good administrative cell that is run by the students and the teachers to not only organize fun events in the college but also let students take in charge and participate more. The committees in the course also focus on different events, fests, and games. The crowd on the campus is good enough.
