It is an average college, but you have to find a job on your own.
Placements: As it is a government college, there are no placements. You have to find a job on your own. But the department is very good with top-class teachers and professors. They guide and refer many news channels and portals to hire passing out students for internships and jobs. But that is not officially. Professors have their sources, so they do this for some students.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in college. The lab has Apple PCs for smooth video editing and newspaper format making. It gives us basic knowledge of how to capture photos, make short documents, and scriptwriting. The best thing I learned is the Adobe premiere pro. It is a video-editing software mainly used in the main stream area.
Faculty: The faculty are extremely qualified. They are very helpful. But as it is a government college, the syllabus is old school and doesn't make students industry-ready. We had annual exams. Exams were very difficult as the college was under Calcutta University, one of the prestigious and strict universities.
Other: The course fee is not too high compared to private colleges. Students from middle-class families can afford this. The fest is huge in SN college. It happens once in every two years. At my time, Mika Singh and Palak Muchal came for the fest. Earlier to that, Arijit Singh also performed here. It is the best fest among the other colleges in the nearby area.

Our college is one of the best in Kolkata since 2015, and most of its students are successful.
Placements: Mostly 60% of students got placed in my course. The highest package offered is 60,000, and the lowest package is 20,000. The top news houses recruit students from our course, like ABP Ananda, Zee 24 Ghanta, Red FM, Radio Mirchi etc. 3% of students got internships in Zee 24 Ghanta, Bartaman and Ananda Bazar Patrika. Reporter and content writer roles are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Our department has a classroom and a lab room. The classroom is average, but the lab is highly modified, air-conditioned and has 11 computers. Wi-Fi is only available for computers. Students cannot use it because it is password protected. There is no hostel facility. The canteen food quality is good but costly. We have a big hall, with a pool table and a badminton boundary.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and friendly. Most of the teachers completed their PhDs. Their teaching quality is very good, and they understand students' problems and solve it in their own way. The course is curriculum relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. The teachers give us assignments that help us in our job.
Other: I wanted to be a journalist, that's why I chose it. The best thing is that you can learn very innovative things. It is a very interesting subject. We have only 5 teachers, and if the number is increased, it helps students a lot. Events and fests are held on our campus every 2 months. Many scholarships are available for students.
