Q:   Can I open a clinic following BPharm from SDDGPI?

    A:

No, pharmacists in India are not allowed to open their own clinics. According to the India Pharmacy Council, only doctors with an MBBS degree can open clinics. Pharmacists can open a chemist shop and dispense medicine, but they cannot start a clinic or prescribe medicine to patients.

To operate a clinic or prescribe medication, one must have an MBBS degree. As a pharmacist, you can obtain a license to open a chemist or medicine shop where you can distribute medicines prescribed by doctors. While it's common for some chemists to recommend medication for minor ailments, this practice is illegal and can lead to legal consequences if caught.

Really good infrastructure and facilities, along with great placements.
Placements: 99% of students from our course are placed. They were offered 4-5 LPA at that time. Quality assurance, quality control, production management, research, formulation, development, and teaching are some of the fields in which a pharmacist can work. You can even start your own business.
Infrastructure: Great infrastructure with 24*7 Wi-Fi facility, water and electricity supply. Well-equipped, fully furnished classrooms, gymnasium, and a variety of sports facilities like basketball, football, and cricket. However, the food provided in the hostel mess was of very poor quality, including salads and fruits.
Faculty: The staff is well-educated and good at problem-solving. All the subjects and syllabus are curriculum-related and well-taught by our mentors. Thanks to the semester system, exams are easier to manage since only half of the syllabus needs to be covered per semester.
Other: The Pharmacy course is extremely beneficial for everyone because it provides us with knowledge about medicine and teaches us how to maintain our health. Additionally, the main focus is on learning how to prepare formulations like capsules, tablets, syrups, emulsions, and ointments.
