Q:   What is the latest cutoff information for MBA at Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, Pune?

    A:

The latest cutoff information for the MBA programme at Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, Pune (SIHS) is not yet available due to the SNAP 2023 exam, which was held in December 2023. Results are expected to be declared on January 12th, 2024. SIHS typically releases individual cutoffs a few days after the SNAP results are declared. The MBA-HHM (Hospital & Healthcare Management) programme is expected to have a 55-60 percentile cutoff for the general category. Other MBA specializations may have slightly lower cutoffs compared to MBA-HHM, potentially ranging from 50-55 percentile. Other selection factors include the Written Assessment Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) performance. In the meantime, it is recommended to monitor the SIHS website and official social media channels for updates on the SNAP result declaration and subsequent cutoff announcement.

A mutually beneficial place for your learning.
Placements: There is a separate placement cell for MBA students where we get hands-on training of corporate as well as mock interview sessions. There was 100% placement assistance provided by SIHS placement cell. There were 100% placements in the previous batch according to college policy, i.e. excluding students with backlogs. There were around 90-95% placements in our batch. The highest salary package offered was 10 lacs per annum, and the lowest was 4 lacs per annum. Major roles offered were associated with the healthcare industry in different areas like market research, sales and marketing, and managerial positions.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Symbiosis campuses is amazing as they provide comfort and homely feeling to every student. There are many facilities available like Wi-Fi, classrooms, recreational facilities, and sports for all the students in the campus. Campus life at SIHS helped everyone learn a lot of things and made us independent people. The classrooms, medical facilities, and canteen are good enough for everyone who wants to be part of SIHS.
Faculty: The faculty here are very helpful, give knowledge about the corporate world and help us understand the practice areas of all management concepts. They guide us in our extra activities and research, as well as guide us during our placements. The teaching methods and the curriculum designed itself give the perfect exposure to industry and help students understand the pain areas as well.
Other: There is a lot of scope for extracurricular activities when it comes to Symbiosis. We have an annual event called Panache, blood donation drive, Wari as well as many international health-related conferences for our grooming.

Been an amazing learning and developmental process.
Placements: Placement for batch 2014-16 was 100 % (removing those students who opted out of the placements). The average package offered was around 5 lakhs and the highest package was 7 lakhs. Top organizations that came were-ZS associates, Deloitte, NH Hospitals, Fortis Hospitals, Manipal Hospital, Mediassist India TPA Insurance Ltd., Reliance Insurance Ltd. etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities were average to good. Not as good as compared to other big MBA Colleges like IIMs, NMIMs etc., but all the facilities were there including a library, medical facilities and volleyball court.
Faculty: When it comes to courses and faculty, I would say it covers most of the main healthcare fields ranging from hospitals to insurance and pharma/clinical research to NGOs. Most of the lectures were done through PPTs, role plays, assignments and other tasks.
Other: Overall, the exposure was good. The course, skill development classes and internships were really helpful at the time of placements. Other activities like organizing various kinds of events like blood donation camp, health camps, general awareness camps etc. gave an edge to our learning.

Other: The College has decent infrastructure situated in heart of the city, well connected. It has average sized Library and well equipped lecture halls. The Faculty is very renowned and well experienced from field of healthcare and allied sciences. There are renowned guest speakers; conclaves and other seminars. The Post Graduate program is one of their best and their flagship course. The placement scenario is quite good. Nearly 100% placements with many MNCs lining up can be found. There is a Decent crowd but heavily skewed towards women in MBA program – with almost 2011, 2012, 2013 batch having 80% girls. There are a lot of wonderful nearby places like- FC Road, JM road, Deccan, being situated in central Pune.

Q:   What entrance exam scores does Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, Pune accept for admission to MBA?

    A:

The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) in Pune offers two main entrance exams for its MBA program. The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is the official entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for admission to various postgraduate programs, including SIHS. It covers sections like General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Business Management Ability. The SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance exam for MBA programs across various Symbiosis institutes, including SIHS. Both SET and SNAP are accepted for SIHS's MBA program, but there may be slight variations in weightage or preferences depending on the programme specialisation and year. Additional points like AT-GMAT and CMAT may also be accepted, but their acceptance and weightage might be limited. The minimum eligibility for applying is a graduation degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). SIHS also considers Written Assessment Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) for the final selection process. Staying updated on admission criteria and announcements is crucial for a successful application.
