Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.Com at The S.I.A. College of Higher Education?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and former students, here's what we've gathered:

    Pros:
    * Campus: The college has a beautiful campus, which was a major attraction for some students.
    * Sports facilities: The college offers various sports opportunities, including kabaddi, cricket, football, and computer games.
    * Placement: Although the placement record is not exceptional, around 40-50% of students do get placed, with salaries ranging from INR60,000 to INR2.5 Lacs per annum.

    Cons:
    * Teaching staff: Half of the teachers reportedly yell at students, creating an unfavorable learning environment.
    * Exams: Exams are challenging, with only 75% of students passing, while the remaining 25% fail (KT).
    * Industry-readiness: The college doesn't prepare students adequately for the industry, resulting in fewer job opportunities.
    * Infrastructure: Limited facilities, including no Wi-Fi access for students, poor cleanliness, and congested canteens.
    * Scholarship availability: Scholarships are sometimes available, but not consistently.

Overall, while the college has its positive aspects, such as a pleasant campus and decent placement records, several drawbacks may hinder the overall learning experience. Future students may need to consider alternative options carefully before making a decision.

Remember, individual experiences may vary, and it's essential to weigh both pros and cons before taking a final call.

The worst college one can study in.
Placements: An average of 50% of students were placed in the course. The lowest was approximately sixty thousand to the highest was two Lacs fifty thousand per annum. The top companies were Wipro, HCL, and BPO.15% of students got an internship in this course. No top roles were given.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was the worst, the course classroom was not clean for like fifteen to twenty days. There was not a thing like Wi-Fi for students of any course. They took library fees but the library was of no use to anyone. The canteen food was fine. There are sports and game events like kabaddi, cricket, football and computer games.
Faculty: The teachers were not helpful to anyone. They were like robots that enter class teach punish and leave. College was so strict that everybody was like is this even college or school? Semester exams were held two times a year, but it was easy to pass. The pass percentage was 35.

I am satisfied but there is always scope for improvement.
Placements: Tata techno service, hdfc, Kotak bank, axis bank, city bank, etc. Sales jobs and back-office jobs, typing jobs, finance jobs, marketing jobs, etc. Nearly 80% of students got internships from my course. About 85% of students were placed in your course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in our college. Two computer labs are also available for the students to use. Access is given to sports materials and a big playground. No hostel is available in your college. The canteen food is delicious but a little small. Medical facilities are also available being a physiotherapy college.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and they are highly qualified. The teaching quality is great. They show no hesitation in sharing the knowledge. It is relevant and it makes the candidate employee material in the corporate field. They are quite difficult to test your conceptual understandability.
Other: The best thing about my course is it's a mix of all fields. The thing that I wanted, is not specialisation in a particular field. More scope in subjects. Can surely be given in our college. A bundle of events and fests are organised. Lots of curricular activities and I actively participate in them.

    Dissatisfied from the college.
Placements: In our batch, less than 50% of students get placement. They offer 1 CPA as the highest package; the lowest package is 7.5 LPA; and the average is 50 LPA offered by the college. The recruiting companies are Bajaj, ICICI bank, and HDFC bank. Only 50% of students get an internship from my course. Bank manager, accountant, etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi available for students to use; it is only for the teaching staff classroom. The clean library only has limited books; the dirty watercooler staff use different machines for drinking water; the canteen area is so small that half of the students have to wait outside; play areas are always closed; they rarely open them for students; but sports opportunities are very good in the college .
Faculty: Half of the teachers are always yelling at students. The principal does not let the students enter the college unless they have paid the fee. Exam are quite difficult 75% of students pass; the rest get KT. This college does not make students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this college because of the campus. I was attracted to the campus area. Teaching staff should be improved in college and they have to learn event management. The college should treat every student equally .

No, there are no such reasons to be dissatisfied. We get all facilities.
Placements: It is up to 40 to 50 %. There are many banking facilities offered like sales, back office, marketing, and data operations. Some of the banks which offer placement are Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank, Saraswati Bank, Bank of Baroda, and many other banks which provide placements.
Infrastructure: No, we are not having Wi-Fi facilities but surely we are having labs, a clean classroom, a library, a canteen, sports, Indore games and the best medical facilities we get big ground facilities. Cleanness of washroom is always best. We always get hygiene food.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and best experienced. They are upgrading themselves with new techniques. And giving us the best guidance. They explain to us the best examples. It makes our industry ready to face the competitive world. The passing percentage is 35% but we never believe in passing percentage we are doing our best.
Other: I want to start a business of my own. So to upgrade my experience I have chosen the B.Com department. We get lots of benefits to showcase our talent like we get lots of activities, competitions, events, and many other physical activities of sports.

It is a very good college, and I really like it.
Placements: Every student doesn't attend college regularly, but students do not spend much time on holidays. Whatever rules are imposed, every student is ready to follow them. Students are not able to secure high academic percentile, but if they study well, they will get high marks.
Infrastructure: There are a lot of courses in this college. The lab of this college is very good, and there is no problem with it. There is also a medical facility in this college, so none of the students had any problem.
Faculty: Many students qualify from this college, and even those who are not able to qualify in exams always try and never give up. Any student tries a lot to qualify in exams, and many students will highly satisfy with such a good college.
Other: In this college, some students get scholarships at some time. A lot of activities are conducted in this college, and all these activities give a lot of happiness.

Overall, our college is the best.
Placements: Our college has proved to be very good for college students. Lecture disturbance never happens in the middle. Due to this, other students also have to face this trouble.
Infrastructure: Facilities in this college are good so that any student can study by sitting at the library. Many students are getting admission into this college, so I suggest others opt for it. They provide medical, sports and gaming facilities.
Faculty: Many students become successful in the industry, and many students are also knowledgeable. Teachers here are very good.
Other: Our college is new, and students also got scholarships.
