Integrated M.Sc.+ Ph.D in Mathematics - Batch of 2022

It is a good place for budding mathematicians although you will be deprived of dazzling campus life.
Placements: TIFR is a research institute. So there is no scope for companies to come and recruit students here. However, students who completed their studies here, are well settled in academia.
Infrastructure: Hostels are good. Everyone is provided with a single sharing room. The rooms are excellent, with an attached bathroom and a balcony as well. We are a small group of students hence we have only 3 classrooms and a computer lab. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on the campus. Food is not that great but fine. Food is quite affordable with respect to Bangalore standards.
Faculty: We have 17 faculty members here. Most of them are very helpful and available almost all the time. They are mostly very caring about the students. The coursework is a bit hectic and a bit outdated. But overall, it is an excellent place to study.
Other: You don't have to pay a single rupee for tuition fees here. Instead, you will be paid for studying. They charge Rs. 21,000 per month in the first year and Rs. 31,000 per month in the 2nd year.
