Q:   What are the minimum marks required for MBA at UBS Chandigarh 2023?

    A:

Unfortunately, there isn't a single minimum "marks" requirement for the MBA programme at UBS Chandigarh in 2023. This is because the admissions process for 2023 has already concluded, and the focus is now on the 2024 academic year.

However, I can share some key points about the selection process for the 2023 MBA programme to give you an idea of what was expected:

    1. Entrance Exam:

    • A valid score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) was mandatory for all applicants.
    • The minimum CAT score wasn't publicly announced,  but based on past trends and information from educational websites,  it was likely around the 85th percentile overall and 50th percentile in each section (QA,  VARC,  DILR).

    2. Selection Process:

    • Meeting the minimum CAT score was just the first step. Shortlisted candidates also needed to go through:
      • Group Discussion (GD): To assess communication skills,  teamwork,  and leadership potential.
      • Personal Interview (PI): To understand the candidate's motivation,  career goals,  and fit with the program.

    3. Additional Factors:

    • While the CAT score played a significant role,  the selection was holistic,  considering other factors like:
      • Academic record: Your performance in your bachelor's degree was important.
      • Work experience (if applicable): Relevant work experience could enhance your application.
      • Statement of Purpose and Letter of Recommendation: These provided insight into your aspirations and potential.

    Remember:

    • The minimum CAT score for 2024 might differ from 2023. Always check the official website or contact the university for the latest information.

    I hope this helps!

Good college with decent infrastructure and placement opportunities.
Placements: Almost 90 percent of the students get placed here in the overall MBA batch. The highest package is around 25 LPA, the average package is around 13.5 LPA, and the lowest would be around 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies that come on campus are Adobe, American Express, Dabur, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available on the campus are decent or average, I would say. It is enough according to the fees they are charging, and it is a government college. The facilities in the hostel are average too. You will get decent food in the mess and canteen, but the overall campus life is good as it is on the main Punjab University campus.
Faculty: The professors teaching here are quite experienced and knowledgeable. The courses and curriculum followed here are the same as those followed by other top institutes. So yes, the curriculum is quite relevant according to market needs. There are class tests, mid-semester tests, and end-semester tests too.

Review of University Business School, Chandigarh, Panjab University.
Placements: Around 6154 placements were offered in our course. The highest salary package offered was 50 LPA. The average salary package offered was 9.54 LPA. Offers were made from various domains like finance, sales, marketing, consulting, analytics, human resources, and operations.
Infrastructure: Our college was equipped with a state-of-the-art computer laboratory with more than 50 terminals connected to high-speed internet connectivity through the computer center. Our campus was Wi-Fi-enabled. Air-conditioners were available in the auditorium. There were two seminar halls equipped with audio-visual aids and computers. Our college had an in-house library with more than 11,443 books and 152 journals comprising both Indian and International publications, thus enabling students to find references relating to almost all branches of management.
Faculty: The teaching quality was good in our college. Faculty members were very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Our course curriculum was relevant, and it made students industry-ready. They had great command over their subjects.

It is the best college under ROI segment.
Placements: Nearly 80-90% of the students get placed every year. The highest domestic salary package offered is 18 LPA, the lowest salary package offered depends on the CAP of the year and the average salary package offered is 6.5 LPA. Top recruiters are American Express Bank, HDFC Bank, Bacardi, Infosys, Paisabazaar, etc.
Infrastructure: It is a government institution, and it was built more than 50 years back, so it lacks good infrastructure. Maintenance is also low. Every student doesn't get a hostel, and it is allocated on merit basis as it comes under the university norms rather our college. There are no residential hostels.
Faculty: UBS have some great professors, and they have experiences of more than 30 years in the field of teaching. They are very interactive with students, but due to lack of infrastructure, our college lacks good teaching aids. The curriculum is good as far as theory is concerned, but the theory is always less until you get a proper practical exposure. UBS is average in this aspect.
Other: The college is value for money, and it is most famous for its ROI. It offered the average salary package of 8.5 LPA with the fee of Rs. 80,000 for 2 years. MBA life is incomplete without residential hostels and infrastructure, and UBS lacks in this.

I am satisfied with the college as it provides good placements and infrastructure.
Placements: As per the placement report of the 2018-20 batch, 103 students got placed for different roles. For the batch graduating in 2020, the average salary package offered was 9.44 LPA while the lowest salary package offered was 8.5 LPA. The highest domestic salary package offered was 18.81 LPA by American Express, and the highest international salary package offered was 55 LPA by Tolaram Group.
Infrastructure: It is a government-funded college. Our department is furnished with all the facilities and also the infrastructure is too good. All lecture theatre and classrooms have air-conditioning along with projectors. This college has a hostel of Panjab University itself and the fee is just Rs. 1,000 per month. All the facilities such as the canteen, medical, sports and games are available.
Faculty: Faculty members in our department are highly qualified from top colleges and also have good experience in their respective fields. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable with high rated teaching quality. The MBA program is also good as it has good ROI due to its low fees i.e., Rs. 12,000 per semester and it makes the student industry-ready.

Our college provides good ROI, but doesn't take many hopes.
Placements: Around 90% students got placed this year and one of the main reason for this decrease is recession and this pandemic otherwise last year 100% students got placed from this college. The highest package was offered by tolaram group I. e. 55 Lacs p. a. and the lowest is probably 6.5 Lacs p. a. by Wipro. And average is around 9 Lacs. Here Top recruiting companies are American express, Tolaram group, Trident, SBI general, HDFC, Bacardi, Infosys, Finxera, Wipro, E&Y. Top roles offered here is for marketing majorly. Rarely any Finance roles are offered. Though this year E&Y had offered finance role to two students of our college. Hope this review helps.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure available is huge and good and it is the best thing in PU. Each department has its library and a common library of PU i.e. air-conditioned Joshi library. Hostels are also good concerning the amount of fee charged by them. The food served is good at a low price. There is a health center on the PU campus which is free for students of PU, stationery shops, sports facilities, and everything is very good. Wi-Fi is provided by every department to its student which works on the entire campus of PU.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified but the course curriculum is not updated. It's not up to the mark. In UBS you have to do hard work, teachers are not going to tell you what you should do, they don't take initiatives here, it's the student who has to take their call. This is one of the weaknesses of UBS. Though teachers are very knowledgeable they usually are occupied with their work. This course doesn't make the students industry-ready. They hardly do any case studies in college which should be a major part of any MBA college. So this is a major drawback of PU.
Other: The best part of this college is very low fees and good returns. For students who want to do their MBA at a low price and from a decent college then UBS is good for you. Though no fests are organised by UBS, in PU every day some event is held. The student center is the heart of PU and is on the front side of UBS so very comfortable for having something in just 10 minutes break. The campus is very beautiful. We have various clubs in UBS who organises various events. These are run by students only. Around 2 years before, TEDX was organised by UBS. In the previous year, Management Conclave was organised and in the current year, Markage 1.0 was organised which was a huge hit and was published in various known magazines. You have to keep in mind that it's only you who can change your future, don't expect much from college, it is not going to work here, for that you should aim for IIM then.

Best ROI. Training & Placement Officer made personal efforts to get all the students placed.
Placements: 6 Lacs per annum was the lowest package offered, 33 Lacs per annum was the highest and 9 Lacs per annum was the average package offered. Around 98% were placed on the campus, but the Training and Placement Officer (TPO) made personal efforts to get all placed by the end of the course. It provides a very good rate of return on my investment. The recruiters were diverse. A few research companies like ZS, multinationals like Infosys/Wipro, finance like Religare etc. Religare and Trident were among the top recruiters. We all got an internship under prominent companies. Around 10% also bagged pre-placement offers from their internship companies. Business Analyst was the most offered role.
Infrastructure: We had all the available infrastructure in both our department/university and the hostel. We had free wi-fi in the entire campus, computer labs, the department library and a separate university library. We also had a digital library which could be accessed from the campus wi-fi supporting lakhs of research journals and books. The food was good. We also had the supply of milk and fresh juices of seasonal fruits throughout the year.
Faculty: Our syllabus was updated at regular intervals after an academic meet with the industry experts. We also had special guest lectures from the industry experts apart from the regular lectures by the distinguished and qualified faculty. The teachers and professors also took several faculty development courses from various IIMs for their own personal development and for staying relevant to the present.
Other: It is a prominent university and they stress research oriented decision making. Hence they prepare us as marketing and research guys and for data-oriented decision making. This was the reason for my decision to pursue the course. We had different cultural fests, tech fests, literary fests etc. We had Sports week too. My university can advertise more about the courses from my college, this would be my only suggestion for my college/department.
