Review of University Business School, Chandigarh - Panjab University.
Placements: Placements in our college were very good. Placements rate is almost 100%. Roles and packages offered were also good. The last batch got placed with the highest domestic salary package of 30 LPA and international salary package of 53 LPA. The average and median salary packages increased in the last batch as compared to the previous batches.
Infrastructure: UBS has a library equipped with popular journals and magazines. The computer lab is also available here. Most of the classrooms are now air-conditioned. The student centre is at walking distance from UBS, where students can enjoy food. The central library of PU, i.e., AC Joshi Library, is also available at walking distance.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good. Faculty members also possess great experience. Some teachers use case studies to help students understand better. Experts from industries also visit UBS, which help students to gain knowledge about the industry. The number of students in a class is also less, which helps in many ways.

A college with a good ROI and decent placements and established name.
Placements: In our senior batch I. e. batch of (2016-18), the average package was around 7.7-8.2 and the highest package was 46 Lacs p. a. offered by Tolaram group an FMCG company. Banking and financial services were the main sectors in which about 38% of the batch was placed it was followed by FMCG, Consulting, IT and other sectors. Companies like Trident group, Mahindra Finance, Infosys, Wipro, Airtel etc. Visited the campus. The summer internship was decent as well the highest stipend of 1,20,000 rs for 2 months was offered by IBM and the average stipend was around 28000 for 2 months. Companies like IBM, JW Marriot, HDFC, ICICI, American Tower Company, SBI etc. Recruited summer interns. 100% summer internship was recorded for the students who did not opt out of placement process.
Infrastructure: Being a government institution UBS lacks the quality infrastructure but the classrooms and Library are decent. But it is located in the Panjab University campus thus the students get all the amenities of Wi-Fi, great atmosphere, playing grounds, Gym, swimming pool and a 24*7 air-conditioned library AC JOSHI Library. Hostels are decent, you get the free Wi-Fi and all the other facilities in the hostel itself.
Faculty: The faculty is extremely experienced and seasoned. We have some senior professors from IIM, XLRI etc. The faculty generally uses the traditional classroom methods not much new could be expected here. Student to faculty ratio is good. There will be guest lectures from industry people but the opportunities are lesser as compared to premier B-School, Curriculum is a bit outdated since it's a very old and government-run B-School.
Other: Events like Alumni Meet, Farewell and Freshers are loved by students. There will be other engagement activities as well as it's student-driven a lot many events could be initiated by the students. We organized the TEDx Panjab University. Apart from this, there are plenty of student fest which is open for UBS students as well. Connectivity is good. It's located in the heart of Chandigarh. Scholarships are offered and extracurricular activities are also there.

I am moderately satisfied because of the faculty and good placements in 2017.
Placements: The placements here are good. One gets good ROI. But, the placements for HR batch proves to be a bit difficult, though at last, everyone gets placed. The summer placements here are getting better. This year, our placement cell was able to pitch in more companies. So, hopefully, next year, it proves to be better for our juniors.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not up to the mark. It is like any other government-funded colleges. Last year, one of our alumni provided money for installing air-conditioners. So, a great consideration is given to the infrastructure. Near our campus, we have a student centre, where one can get a variety of food at affordable prices and the quality is also good.
Faculty: The faculty here are one of the best in the country. They prove to be a source of great experience as well as they provide good guidance. Also, the course curriculum for HR is good. We have one of the best industrial law course material which provides exhaustive knowledge of various laws in India. We also have various guest lectures conducted by prominent persons in various industries and workshops too to hone various skills of the students.

The oldest and the best college of North India.
Placements: The placement cell is student-driven, and therefore the placements vary every year. Still, the average placements can be said to be around 8 lacs per annum. If we compare the ROI, it has the best placements. The organisations like Trident, Kotak Mahindra, KPMG, IBM, Infosys are frequent recruiters of this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average because this is a government college. However, the campus is beautiful with lots of parking space and clean area. It has a good modern computer lab and an excellent library. Apart from the UBS library, students also have access to Asia's largest PU library. Air conditioners have also been recently installed.
Faculty: The faculty is very experienced, and most of them are senior professors of the whole Panjab University. They are very supportive if you cooperate with them and some of them have really good insights about the corporate market. It's always advisable to respect your teachers, and they'll help you back with your matters for sure.
Other: This is a very fine place to study and do MBA at a very low cost in India. The fun and enjoyment of studying at Panjab University is overwhelming in itself. I'll totally recommend one to do MBA from here because of the golden opportunity to be associated with this brand name. If we look at the Alumni of this college, they hold high positions in the corporate world. Many of the alumni visit our campus for various guest lectures. Also, if one is planning to go for a startup along with doing MBA, this is the right place due to availability of time, access to brilliant digital library, and low investment.

Q:   What are the minimum marks required for MBA at UBS Chandigarh 2023?

    A:

Unfortunately, there isn't a single minimum "marks" requirement for the MBA programme at UBS Chandigarh in 2023. This is because the admissions process for 2023 has already concluded, and the focus is now on the 2024 academic year.

However, I can share some key points about the selection process for the 2023 MBA programme to give you an idea of what was expected:

    1. Entrance Exam:

    • A valid score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) was mandatory for all applicants.
    • The minimum CAT score wasn't publicly announced,  but based on past trends and information from educational websites,  it was likely around the 85th percentile overall and 50th percentile in each section (QA,  VARC,  DILR).

    2. Selection Process:

    • Meeting the minimum CAT score was just the first step. Shortlisted candidates also needed to go through:
      • Group Discussion (GD): To assess communication skills,  teamwork,  and leadership potential.
      • Personal Interview (PI): To understand the candidate's motivation,  career goals,  and fit with the program.

    3. Additional Factors:

    • While the CAT score played a significant role,  the selection was holistic,  considering other factors like:
      • Academic record: Your performance in your bachelor's degree was important.
      • Work experience (if applicable): Relevant work experience could enhance your application.
      • Statement of Purpose and Letter of Recommendation: These provided insight into your aspirations and potential.

    Remember:

    • The minimum CAT score for 2024 might differ from 2023. Always check the official website or contact the university for the latest information.

    I hope this helps!
