    A:
    {Source: B.Com LL.B students & alumni}

Placement Cell for B.Com LL.B at UILS Chandigarh

Based on the student reviews and feedback, here's how the placement cell assists students in getting placed:

    * Career Development Cell: Most students get jobs through the college's placement cell, Career Development Cell (CDC). This suggests that the CDC plays a crucial role in helping students secure employment opportunities after graduation.

    * Visiting companies: Several companies such as KPMG, SS Rana, and AKB Lex visit the college for placements, offering job opportunities to students. This indicates that the CDC actively engages with industry partners to provide students with a range of job options.

    * Salary packages: The highest salary package offered is around INR5 Lacs Per Annum (LPA), which is a competitive figure in the market.

While there is limited information available regarding the placement cell's activities, these points highlight its key functions in assisting students in securing employment. It appears that the CDC focuses on establishing connections with industry partners and providing students with job opportunities.

Review of University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University.
Placements: In our college, there are no placements. They are now trying to establish a placement cell for UILS.
Infrastructure: It's a very old building but they are constantly renovating it. There are new blocks for new students. There are no smart classes. There are simple blackboards in calssrooms. There are no air-conditioners. Our bathrooms are old.
Faculty: Our teachers are excellent, extremely experienced, friendly, and helpful. They are intelligent and well-known throughout the city. The curriculum is vast. The end-of-semester exams are challenging and the passing percentage is 33%.

    Satisfied with the college.
Placements: Placements are totally based on your CV. The more you participate in internships, the more the chances of placements. However, there are few placements in PU compared to other private colleges. Placements also differ according to your department.
Infrastructure: Hostels are good compared to other public universities. They have all the basic facilities which hostelers need. Washrooms are cleaned regularly. You have to clean your own room, but the corridor is duly cleaned. All the hostels of Panjab University have one reading room, which is a very good place to study.
Faculty: Almost all the teachers are Ph.D. holders and are well qualified to teach their students. They guide students in achieving good marks. I have opted for B.Com LL.B. course, and its curriculum is relevant. It makes students ready as future lawyers. Semester exams are not so difficult, and the pass percentage is 45%.
Other: My course, B.Com LL.B., is offered by a very few colleges, that's why I opted for it.

College experience at the University Institute of Legal Studies.
Placements: There aren't many placement drives in our college; only the career development office occasionally notifies students about government and private unpaid internships. However, students who diligently dedicate themselves often secure off-campus placements in reputable companies like Luthra and Luthra, Shradul and Anmarchand law firms. The primary focus for many students here is to strive for a government job.
Infrastructure: The department offers only educational facilities, and the washrooms are not maintained very well. The Wi-Fi works adequately, and the classrooms meet the required standards. The department's library provides books that students can borrow using their library cards. The hostels at Panjab University are reasonably priced, but the quality of the hostel canteens varies. There's a gymnasium hall where most indoor intercollegiate events take place, and a large ground where sports enthusiasts gather for practice every morning and evening.
Faculty: The teachers in our university are highly qualified in their respective fields. Some have more than 20 years of experience and possess extensive knowledge in their subjects. However, some teachers are on a contractual basis. While the courses provide educational experiences, they do not make students industry-ready. To achieve that, students must engage in internships, moots, debates, and, if aspiring for judiciary or UPSC, utilize the renowned AC Joshi library for preparation. Overall, the university environment is conducive for those preparing for government exams.
Other: One improvement I wish for is the teaching methodology of our professors. Sometimes, they favor certain individuals for personal reasons, leading to unnecessary bias. A word of advice: do not provoke any ill feelings as it might adversely affect your academics. Several students in our semester faced consequences and were not promoted due to such issues. I chose law because becoming a lawyer was always my lifelong goal. I was captivated by the complexities of law. During the initial semester, selections occur, which are crucial experiences for every student. The connections made during this time prove beneficial in one's career as an advocate. In the following semester, various departmental fests take place, extending from February to April before the exams commence. The university, with almost 80 departments, always has something happening, ensuring no room for boredom.

Really good facilities and is one of the best and prestigious Institute.
Placements: There are a total of 180 seats for B.Com LLB (Hons. ) And are 3 sections for the same. The same number of seats are there for BA LLB. There are various societies formed which we could be part of. And they provide us with an opportunity to build up and grow in our field. And various groups provide internships. And our seniors are very helpful to provide us with the same.
Infrastructure: There is a library. As now there are online classes available, I haven't seen the campus but there are various facilities that could be provided. There is a Stuck which is open for all students of Panjab university where students gather in their free time and eat and have fun. Sports societies are also there in every department. Overall PU is a campus that has numerous facilities which are helpful for students to grow.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. And they do their best to provide us with everything online too. The teaching quality is nice. And we have been also provided access to the library. While in a pandemic, teachers try their best to provide us with all the knowledge which is useful and are every time available to take up our doubts.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested to study law and it's one of the best courses which is helpful for society as we are the budding lawyers of the country. There are lots of events and extracurricular activities which are organized by various departments of the university.

There are good faculty members, but placements are not as good as expected.
Placements: Most of the students get jobs through our college placement cell named career development cell. Companies like KPMG, SS Rana, AKB Lex, etc., visit our college for placements. The highest salary package offered is around 5 LPA. The course is good, and teaching is really appreciable.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are fine here. Hostels are not that good, and the food served is also fine. I don't know much about the hostel and the food served in it because I am a day scholar. Classrooms are just fine, but the library is really good with a variety of books for different subjects.
Faculty: Faculty members here are really very good, especially the permanent faculty members. They are really helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also up to the mark except for some subjects. However, most of the major subjects are being taught in a very proficient manner.

Top class studies, good internships and mediocre infrastructure.
Placements: The department has recently re-established its career development cell for internships and placements under the able guidance of Prof. Rajinder Kaur. It has been successful in providing good internships to students recently. It is even giving an opportunity to students to participate in placement drives.
Infrastructure: The department has a well-built infrastructure with a Wi-Fi facility available all through the campus. Classrooms are spacious enough to accommodate 60-70 students at a time easily and even more at times. The library is well built and has books on every law subject which are updated from time to time. Washrooms are a bit of disappointment, but overall infrastructure of the college is worth the appreciation.
Faculty: The faculty are well qualified and very knowledgeable. They don't just help you in the class but will also take an extra class on students' request and are available all time for help. The way of teaching is not just professional but also modified to cater to the needs of the students and to suit their style. The course and curriculum is also well planned to cover all the subjects and all important material therein.
Other: Being a law college, all the fests are related to legal aspects. The college organises its annual law fest in the month of February with the name Arguendo where the crowd here is quite good and learned.
