B.E. in Marine Engineering - Batch of 2021
3.8

I would recommend joining this college for curriculum, practical classes, and new experiences.
Placements: I am a BE marine engineer in our batch. There are 80 cadets, and out of 80, only a single student got placed in a company through placements. So, placements are very poor. If you join this college, you have to arrange for a job, and then you can join this college.
Infrastructure: Hostels are good and well-maintained, and classrooms and labs are available. The hostel food available is prepared with hygiene, but recently they changed the mess contract after I passed out.
Faculty: Teachers were awesome and very helpful, and there is no drawback in faculty members, curriculum, and exams. Everything is perfect. For exams, we are practically learning, and we just need to write them. It is not at all difficult.

Overall, it's a very good college.
Placements: The placements are not that good. Only 2 students got placed in my batch. That's not the fault of our college, but it is due to covid-19. The top recruiting companies are MOL Tankship Management, K-Line Shipping Management Pvt., Ltd., etc. The top role offered is senior cadet captain.
Infrastructure: The college provides good infrastructure. Almost every lab is available that is required for the marine stream. It is a good library with all the marine-related journals and magazines. There are no facilities like Wi-Fi, canteen, and medical facilities. Games facilities are good. We can play a lot of games. There is no swimming pool.
Faculty: The teachers are highly skilled and qualified. Even some teachers have sea-going experiences. They are highly knowledgeable and experienced. The course curriculum is very relevant. The college helps us prepare ourselves for the industry. Semester exams are not that difficult.

The college is good in every aspect.
Placements: For every batch, they'll take only 80 students for this particular course. The highest package was 3 LPA, and the lowest package was 2.2 Lacs per annum. There were a few internships. The top courses were BE (bachelor's of marine engineering) and B.Sc. (bachelor's of nautical science).
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. It has three blocks, and the main block is for classes. The 2nd block is for practical labs, and there is also a model ship. It's an original one which is placed in our college, and we can learn well.
Faculty: All the faculty members are excellent, and there are the most experienced chief engineers from most companies. Students can work in industries and prepare well. The exams are not difficult if you study well, and the pass percentage is 40%.
Other: Marine engineering is the best.

It is a good college in India.
Placements: Our college has the best teaching and good placement opportunities. Companies like K-Line and many others visit our campus for placements.
Infrastructure: All infrastructural facilities and the educational system are good. Our college provides all the facilities which are important for studying in a very well manner. Our college has well-maintained classrooms and hostel, and there is 24x7 electricity facility. Labs are very good with all new instruments, and the library is very well maintained. The hostel is also good and contains very well maintained rooms. In the hostel rooms, there is a separate study table and separate cupboard for every student.
Faculty: Courses are taught by very well experienced faculty members, chief engineers and another kind of deck officers. We study different subjects throughout our tenure. Moreover, everything is taught very well to all of us. They take us to port visits.
Other: There is a ship on our campus for us. We can get to see the real parts of the ship instead of seeing the pictures on the internet. Our course is very disciplined and hardworking.

I will say that our college is good if we will talk about the teaching and infrastructure but is not
Placements: I am a student of B.E Marine Engineering. And talking about the placement, there is very poor placement record in our college as present scenario of our field is very bad. College is trying to get placement for our student. In our batch there are 80 students and out of 80 only 4 got placed.
Infrastructure: The labs of our college is well equipped with all the equipment. Library is having all the books which we need and if we want to get the books it is very easy. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and computer system. Although the infrastructure of our college is above average.
Faculty: Our college teachers are very good in teaching. They are working very hard to give us quality education. And all the teachers are very knowledgeable and able to solve our any doubt. The ship in campus is having all the equipment which will help us to make us industry ready.

Recommending this college at the rate of 80% for day scholars and 65% for hostellers.
Placements: The college is not just like engineering colleges to hook you up with a job via placements. Once you finish your course, it is your own ability to suit yourself further. An average of 70% to 80% students gets through the final year. Anyhow, the students who entered the college through counselling may get around Rs. 1,000 to 2,000 as a stipend I guess, and I am not aware of the current scenario as you can only get through NEET exams.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi facility, but mostly, it can't be used by a student. However, the Wi-Fi facility is there for hostellers and gets turned on from the evening at an average of supporting 15 connections at a time with average speed. Among four years, only the first-year class got air conditioning installed. However, the hostel rooms and washrooms for the first year are devastating. Each classroom got its separate projectors and other facilities. On the note of hostel food, I don't want to give you a positive thought. Anyways, you will get used to it eventually or just order it from nearby hotels. The sports and medical facilities are totally above average. Sometimes, you will get to face the management's new rules which will give you no absolute sense, so you may, and you will experience a tough time as a hosteller. There is only one college canteen, and one private canteen with xerox shop inside the college campus. The library is well-maintained with a system access facility.
Faculty: Though there are flaws in management facilities, the teachers are skilful and helpful. Around 90 percent of them are like angels. However, facing the rest of 10 percent will give you a nightmare. The teachers will be there to help you with your needs, and you can't even think about the flaws in them just like I do now. There will be mentors for you every year and guide you throughout your course and will be there to deal with your issues.
Other: More or less, there will be 3 to 4 number of events and fests in a year. Forest surrounds 3/4th of the college, and it is 3 to 5 KM inside, from the main OMR road. The private and government bus facilities are low. The college has both indoor games and outdoor games such as table tennis, carrom, chess, shuttle, basketball, cricket, and throwback along with a gym facility.
