Decent college, Great infrastructure and facilities, good staff, and great placements in 2022.
Placements: About 40% of the students were placed in different companies ranging from MNCs, and the Big 4 to newer companies and startups. The highest is 6.5 LPA and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. Deloitte, Neilsen IQ, TCS, Wipro, and ICICI were top recruiters. Internships are a prerequisite for degree completion. Everyone got at least 1 internship. Top roles include Financial Analyst, Audit assistant, and Relationship Manager.
Infrastructure: The college has a huge library with any book you might need for academics. Wi-Fi is also available but not open to students. Computer labs might have a few older models of computers. Every department has at least 2 projectors. There is an indoor basketball court and open grounds with generous space to play any sport. The classrooms are proper with adequate lighting and windows. The hostel facility is pretty decent but is quick to fill up. Mess food is above average. Extremely secure hostel. It can be quite restrictive. There is an Apollo mini clinic inside the campus. The canteen is good. We also have a nescafe kiosk, a booth, and a food truck. A stationery shop is present inside the campus.
Faculty: The teachers, in my department particularly, are well qualified and have adequate knowledge. The lectures are two-way most of the time. The syllabus is good and up-to-date. I found the subjects quite interesting. The corporate world is quite different from college. But the subjects do help in adapting to the corporate. Semester exams can be challenging but the appropriate amount. The pass percentage is at 100.
Other: Festive is our inter-college cultural fest and it does live up to the hype. Apart from this, every department hosts workshops or cultural events. You can get scholarships based on your family, economic status, and community. The campus is pretty great. There is a lot of greenery and is quite calming.

Really very good infrastructure, faculty, facilities and placements.
Placements: 1.40% of students placed in our course. 2. Average salary offered for this - not sure about this. 3. Top recruiting companies during my time were TCS, CTS & Amazon. 4. Students must go for an internship during semester holidays. We all attended 5 internships in different sectors. 5. The highest package offered in this course is 1.5 Lacs. 6. In our course internship is compulsory and it should be done during our semester holidays in 5 sectors which is manufacturing industries, IT sector, Chartered Accountants, Insurance Sector & banking Sector.
Infrastructure: 1. Facilities available for this course is labs, library, and Classrooms 2. Quality of the facilities in our hostel is a very good atmosphere and pleasant place to stay. Our hostel is surrounded by a huge number of trees. It's a calm place to study outside. About food quality in mess is not very bad. Food quality in canteen same as above. This place has an amazing Maggi which all the WCC girls love to have. Sports and games are super cool in my college. If you are interested in sports means you can spend your time in the sports department itself. This course allows you to study well and play well.
Faculty: 1. Teachers during my time were really amazing they will help you to have a good grade in all your subjects. There teaching were so good and very practical. 2. Yes, this course helps you gain so much knowledge in accounts, finance, auditing, etc. I'm currently doing CA. And this is very helpful.
Other: I chose this course to gain knowledge in commerce. And this course overall helped me to gain knowledge and taught me how to deal with every industry. I think it's enough for this course and it's already doing good. About hostel that needs certain improvements like heater, washing machine. My college has the best fest and events one can ever ask.

It is a pretty good college, but it needs to be improved.
Placements: About 40% of the students from our course got placed. The salary offered here is Rs. 15,000 per month to Rs. 30,000 per month. KPMG, Mc Kinsey, etc., are the top recruiters of our course. Almost 100% of the students got internships. For all B.Com Honours students, it is mandatory to do internships in 5 following sectors, i.e., banking, manufacturing, chartered accountancy, IT and insurance. It is mandatory to do internships in IOB and PNB MetLife, as the college has an MoU signed.
Infrastructure: Our college has RO water purifier, a decent library, nice resting areas around the campus with benches, a small church, a good juice counter and a Maggi place. The usual food served in the canteen was average. Our college has good parking system, a great auditorium (after renovation) and a locker room that could have been better. There is a small nurses office/sick room that could've also been better. Our college planned to provide guest lectures for almost all subjects. There are compulsory sports and extracurricular activities in our 1st and 2nd years.
Faculty: The course was good and designed to equip the students with the correct set of skills. Teacher's skills are varied, i.e., some teachers have good skills, while some others don't have. Some teachers provide knowledge about current things while some teachers provide bookish knowledge. It would be better if we had more industrial visits and many student and teachers coordinated activities.
Other: I have chosen this course because it seemed like the best of all the B.Com courses combined. We need to score at least 60% in academics to qualify for (including language papers), mandatory internships, mandatory final year research project. I wish that our college should improve quality teaching methods and also a neat planner for the students to plan their year/semester activities. There is a fest for every department, and we launched a magazine for our department, raise funds for the needy, etc. It showed the students to really work for everything (be it education-based, inviting people for guest lectures, inviting companies and firms for sponsorship and inviting companies for the internship).

Women's Christian college.
Placements: More than 75% of the students who attended the interview GOT selected. Some of the companies which recruited are Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, RBS, ZOHO, kotak, Sutherland etc. , the roles offered were operational analyst, recruitment and development manager etc.
Infrastructure: The college is a very beautiful campus and eco friendly. It has a highly sophisticated and modern computer Labs, classrooms, conference and seminar halls for our practical study. Wi-Fi is available only for the laptops. The library in our college is called the Information Resource Center as the name itself implies it has a wide range of books and also computer facilities inside the library. The reading lounge is probably the favorite spot for most of the girls. The college has 6 hostels inside the campus and the kitchen is a steam based kitchen. The traditions followed is one thing which is followed for many years in the hostels which also helps to get many friends from different cultural backgrounds. There is a doctor available for the residents 24/7 inside the hostel The college has a gym for the residents as well as for the sports players. The college has extended medical assistance from the Apollo shine for the students The canteen is the best place to catch up with your friends and the food served there is the one thing that remains close to our hearts because it brought many of us together from different departments. The college is situated in the heart of the Chennai city and it is a green campus where you can find 100year old trees and also buildings which are more than 100 years old as the college itself celebrated it's 100th birthday on 2015. It is the rich tradition and the creation of women empowerment which makes the college stand above many colleges. It not only teaches from the books but also the moral values of how a woman should be and the role of women in the society which makes the students of Wcc unique and different from others.
Faculty: The teachers were highly knowledge and the teaching methods were also very good that they helped to clear our doubts whenever we wanted and the teacher's were very supportive with our research projects and guided us in many ways. The course curriculum is highly relevant and since we have to undergo compulsory 5 internships of different sectors it really helped us to become industry ready and to have knowledge about the field where we went for training.
Other: B.Com honours is way above the other commerce studies in the college. The best thing about this course would be that the teachers are the best and the course itself provides wide and brief knowledge of various sectors and the internships helped us to gain practical knowledge The college has various drama, arts, dance and music clubs. And also extra curricular activities like NSS, NCC, YI. The college has inter department culturals called the Battlefest. The college hosts the inter collegiate culturals called the Festeve which is one of the most awaited culturals every year by all the colleges.

Q:   Is WCC a good option?

A:

WCC is known for its dynamic quality of education. It's 100 years of existence is a testimony by itself. It's an autonomous institution. Bagging a seat is quite a task especially at UG level. Once entered, a world of multi dimensions opens up.

As far as bunking is concerned its difficult to get past the security people once inside the campus. So she will have to take leave. But 85% attendance in every subject is a deal breaker. It's important to be cautious. It's not impossible to bunk though if the right tricks are known.

Discipline wise it's all individual values. Anything against the rule book is treated with stern action.

Well I hope I've given you an insight about life in WCC. In a nutshell it's 70:30 ratio of education and extracurriculars for UGs and 90:10 for PGs. Good luck to both of you.
