Is B.Sc. at Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science (YCIS) a Good Choice?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Good Placement Record: Around 60% of students were placed this year, with the highest package being INR8 LPA and the lowest being INR3 LPA. Companies like TCS, Accenture, and Infosys were the top recruiters.
    * Strong Industry Connections: Many well-reputed companies from across India visit the college for campus recruitment every year.
    * Supportive Faculty: The faculty is known for being supportive and helping students with their problems. They provide quality education and guidance.
    * Well-Equipped Infrastructure: The college has modern infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, data centers, laboratories, libraries, and study rooms.
    * Various Events and Festivals: The college hosts several events, including cultural festivals, sports festivals, workshops, conferences, and poster presentations.

    Cons:

    * Teaching Quality Varies: While some students praised the teaching quality, others found it lacking. Some teachers were described as "rude" and didn't share their knowledge with students.
    * Passing Percentage: The pass percentage is relatively low, around 35%.
    * Lack of Internship Opportunities: Not all courses have internship opportunities, which might limit hands-on experience.

Overall, while YCIS has its strengths, particularly in terms of placements and industry connections, it may require improvement in certain areas, such as teaching quality and internship opportunities. However, it remains a viable option for students seeking a strong foundation in Science and technology.

Review of Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara Department of Computer Science .
Placements: Around 60 percent of the student are placed this year. The highest package was 8 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. Companies like TCS, Accenture, and Infosys were the top recruiters. 30 percent of students do internships at companies like Agroson and 80c. Students can work as developers, testers, analysts, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, a data center, a laboratory, a library, a study room, classrooms, etc. are facilities available. Also, the facilities at the hostel are good and affordable. The mess is also nice and there are two canteens in the college. Every student gets a table, bed, chair, and locker in their rooms.
Faculty: The faculty here is very supportive and qualified. They help students with their every problem. The course curriculum is nice and meets industry standards. The difficulty level is above average in exams and the pass percentage is 35%. Get chances to work on research projects. I got the opportunity to participate in state- and national-level competitions.
Other: The course is best and because of the college infrastructure, I chose it. The fees should be taken in online mode. Various events like cultural festivals, sports festivals, workshops, conference and poster presentation programs are held.

Absolutely a value for money .
Placements: YCIS Satara is a very reputed college. Rayat Shikshan Sansta of Satara College is very good. As per my research about college, we have enough placements for my field, and college also provides us different kinds of activities to improve our skills, which will reflect in our CV.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good but college doesn't have playground. I don't know about hostel because I don't stay there. As per my classrooms, we have enough and comfortable places to sit; the college provides us with digital classrooms, libraries, study rooms, etc. to study in.
Faculty: Fauclty is very helpful and friendly; they solve our doubts any time we need them. I have full permission to call them at any time to ask any kind of doubt. They also conduct some kind of activity to entertain us; they are too talkative and kind in nature.

    College review 101 and stuff.
Placements: Many students are there in my course. I'm currently a first year studying in the institute and we have a class of 85 students. All of them range from an age of 18 to 21 due to some students being NEET droppers. Apart from that all of them are pretty smart and creative in their own ways. Our college has many internship opportunities but all of them depend upon the skills of the student. Whichever company comes first check the compatibility of the student for their company and selects them according.
Infrastructure: The college has a great infrastructure with many buildings and a seperate study room for students to study in. There's also a library which is very useful for the students if they need to get or borrow any reference books or material for preparation of exams, etc. There are 2 hostels, one girls and one boys hostel. The boys hostel is far away from the college about a kilometre away while the girls hostel is on campus. The timings are pretty decent, for boys it is 8 pm and for girls it is 6 pm. So yes it's nice.
Faculty: The syllabus is pretty relevant to the course and very helpful to the students who are looking for further studies in the relevant topic. The exams are conducted every year. A total of 4 exams are conducted which includes both internal and external examination.
Other: I was interested in this course since it was smth different from the usual. I also like my college pretty well as it provides most of the amenities required for a student or in a student life in general.
