NIFTs Fee Structure 2024-25: Components, Category/Semester-wise Fee for UG & PG Courses

The total fees for pursuing an academic program at NIFT consist of various components like tuition fees, library fees, mediclaim, exam fees, and security deposit among others. Check semester-wise fees for UG and PG design courses offered by the 18 NIFTs.

The admission process for the NIFTs has STARTED.

The NIFT 2025 application form with regular fees is open from November 22-January 6, 2025. With late fees, applications will be from January 7-9, 2025.

Meanwhile, the NIFT 2025 written exam will be conducted on February 9, 2025.

When pursuing a design course at the NIFTs, the candidate has to pay tuition fees and other fee components like exam fees, library fees, medical fees, and security deposit money. Some fee components, including the security deposit, are non-refundable, whereas other components like the tuition fee are non-refundable.

The NIFTs offer Bachelor of Design (BDes), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (MDes), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), and Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech).

NIFT has 18 participating institutes and the fee structure at these NIFT campuses may vary depending on the program, level (UG and PG), and also the institute.

That is not all. The course fee is different for Indian nationals and NRI students. Apart from that, the fee is also different for candidates who apply for NIFT admissions under the Artisans/ Children of Artisans category. Components of NIFT Fee Structure

The total fees to be paid to NIFTs include components like tuition fees, library fees, mediclaim, and exam fees. The fee component may vary depending on the course and campus: 

• Tuition Fee (Non-Refundable)
• Library Fee (Per Year) (Non-Refundable)
• Mediclaim & Student Development Fee (Per Year) (Non-Refundable)
• Exam Fee (Per Year) (Non-Refundable)
• Security Deposit (Refundable)
• Alumni Association Membership Fee (Non-Refundable)
• Registration Fee (One Time)

NIFT Fees Structure for Non-NRI Category

Candidates need to pay the NIFT fee every semester for the course to which they have applied for admission. The NIFT UG courses have eight semesters whereas PG courses have four semesters. The fee to be paid at all NIFT campuses is the same. However, it just varies depending on the level of the course (UG or PG). Mentioned in the table below is the fee to be paid by non-NRI candidates for the entire course.

NIFT Fee for Artisans/ Children of Artisans

NIFT also invites students to apply for BDes course admissions if they or any one of their parents is an Artisan. The fee to be paid by candidates who apply for admission at any NIFT campus under this category is mentioned in the table below.

Fee for NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA)

NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA) offers candidates who have completed their Diploma in a relevant/ related field of Design & Technology direct admission to the third semester of the UG program. The candidates who have acquired Diploma/Degree will appear for NIFT Entrance Exam to get lateral admission in the 3rd semester of UG programs of NIFT. The admission to these candidates will be strictly on merit which will be prepared based on the performance of candidates in the written test, studio test/technology aptitude test, and a personal interview.

Fee for NIFT NLEA NRI Category

NIFT Admission 2025

The admission process for various design courses at the NIFTs has commenced.

The NIFT 2025 application form opened on November 22, 2024.

The last date to apply for the exam with regular fees is January 6, 2025. Meanwhile, with a late fee, applications will be accepted until January 9, 2025.

NTA will conduct the NIFT 2025 written exam on February 9, 2025.

The scores of NIFT 2025 written exam will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

On the day of the exam, the candidate must bring their admit card and a valid photo ID proof.
