AICTE directs affiliated institutions to pay faculty, staff members on time
AICTE has directed all the council approved colleges to ensure that the faculty and staff get a salary on time.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has directed all the AICTE approved colleges to give salary to the faculty and staff on time. The order has been issued by the AICTE after it received complaints from some of the institutions of not receiving salary on time.
As per reports, this is the second time that the AICTE is asking the institutions under the council to pay the salary of the staff members on time.
In the official notification released on the website of the AICTE, the council stated that it has received several complaints that some of the institutions have not yet paid the salary of the faculty members for the month of March 2020 and in some cases since February 2020.
It also stated that during this time of emergency when the whole nation is under lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak, the staff members not being paid on time will lead to stress and will affect their families. The AICTE thus requests all the institutions associated with it to make sure they should pay the salary of the staff members on time.
In another notification, the AICTE along with other details also stated that various institutions have not paid the salary to their faculty and staff members for the duration of the lockdown while certain institutions have also terminated the services of certain faculty/ staff members.
The AICTE has clarified that the salary and other dues of the faculty members will be released for the duration of the lockdown and also the terminations made during the lockdown will be withdrawn. The AICTE has emphasized that the same have to be followed strictly by the institutions.
