In order to finish the syllabus in time, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneshwar has commenced virtual classes. Amid coronavirus lockdown in India, faculty members of IIT Bhubaneswar are making use of technology to live stream lectures from distant regions. To complete their syllabus, over 2,400 students and 148 faculty members are connecting with each other virtually. According to Gaurav Pandey, a second-year student of civil engineering, they have set alarm notifications about the class timings on their smartphones. As soon as the alarm rings, they log into their e-teaching software altogether on time.

By means of bulk messages or emails, information about class timings is uploaded on the IIT Bhubaneshwar website and communicated. For holding online lectures, the institute is using Microsoft Teams. Similar to a lecture in class, students are raising questions, taking notes, and marking attendance. According to IIT Bhubaneshwar Professor RV Rajakumar, attendance was also being taken online through the system. This would also aid the students to save them from sickness due to loneliness and consequent suffering due to academic pressure.

Coronavirus outbreak has taken the world by storm. Every country is facing problems due to this lethal disease Covid-19. Although medical professionals, scientists are trying their best to find a vaccine against coronavirus, nothing successful has so far been achieved. Apart from this, countries from around the world are facing coronavirus lockdown. Due to this, schools, colleges, and other public places including offices are shut. Nonetheless, many Indian institutes have commenced online classes and private sector professionals are trying to do work from home to handle the situation.
