This year, the JEE Advanced exam date is May 18, 2025. The exam will be held in CBT mode in 2 shifts. JEE Advanced 2025 paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and the JEE Advanced 2025 paper 2 will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
JEE Advanced is the entrance exam for admission to undergraduate courses such as bachelor's degree, Integrated master's degree, and Bachelor-Master Dual Degree in Engineering, Science, or Architecture in the IITs. It is a national-level exam and is the second level that candidates need to qualify to be a part of the IIT alumni, the first being JEE Main. Approximately, the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main candidates are allowed to sit for this entrance test every year. The exam is conducted by any one of the 7 IITs or Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, under the aegis of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).
Those who qualify in the JEE Advanced exam are offered seats in IITs based on their course preference and JEE Advanced ranks via a common process by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The courses offered by the IITs via JEE Advanced include BTech, BS, BArch, BTech and MTech dual degree, BS and MS dual degree, Integrated MTech, and Integrated MSc.
