How the Scores of NDA Calculated?
UPSC follows the marking scheme while calculating the scores of candidates. NDA marking scheme is given below:
- In General Ability Test (GAT), candidates get four marks for correct answers
- In the Mathematics section, for correct answers candidates score 2.5 marks
- For wrong answers, 0.33 marks are deducted

Stages of NDA Result
NDA result is declared in two stages. First, the result for the written exam is declared, which is followed by the declaration of the final result. The stages of NDA result are explained below:
NDA Result for Written Exam
The written exam as per NDA exam pattern comprises two sections-GAT and Mathematics. The total marks for the test are 900. UPSC prepares a list of candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Only such candidates are selected for SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test.
NDA Final Result
NDA final result is declared after the completion of the SSB Interview. Candidates are selected for admission to the Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force based on their performance in the written exam and SSB Interview. Candidates are required to secure separate minimum qualifying marks in both tests.
NDA Tie Breaking Policy
When two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks in NDA exam, the ties are resolved as per age. This means candidates older in age are given preference.Â
