The WBJEEB has opened the portal for students who had applied for PUBDET earlier and want to claim their application fee refund.

WBJEEB opens portal for refund for PUBDET applicants! Check Details Here

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB) has opened the portal for students to get their PUBDET application fee refund and students who had applied for admission to PUBDET earlier in January, 2020, can now avail their refund as the portal is open. The matter became a huge controversy after the Student’s Federation of India (SFI)-controlled Presidency University Students’ Union and rival Independents’ Consolidation (IC) students’ bodies had demanded an immediate refund of Rs 500 as taken per application fee from each candidate as PUBDET was not conducted this year.

The WBJEEB conducts the Presidency University Bachelor’s Entrance Test (PUBDET) on behalf of Presidency University, Kolkata every year in order to offer students admission to Undergraduate (UG) courses in the field for Sciences and Humanities. However, this year PUBDET was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns being imposed. Admissions to UG courses offered at Presidency University were done on the basis of merit and on meeting the cut-offs.

The WBJEEB on December 14 released a notice informing PUBDET applicants that their application fee will be refunded and students are required to log in and enter their bank details. The portal will only be open for a week and the last date to claim the refund is till December 21, 2020. Thereafter, students who had applied and not claimed their refund will not be entertained. Here is the notice released by WBJEEB.
