On April 14,  the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi has announced an extension for the COVID-19 lockdown. The situation emerged out of the Coronavirus outbreak has been worsening day by day in the country, therefore a need for a lockdown to control it. AIBE department has restricted its services ever since the first lockdown was announced on March 19 and, only one helpline number been active for emergency queries.

The official notification read  -

“This is to inform all the candidates that the department for All India Bar Examination will be closed till 3rd May 2020 due to extension of the nationwide lockdown as a preventive measure for COVID-19. The helpline numbers 011-49225022/23 will be closed. In case of any emergency, the candidates are requested to call on 9804580458 for any queries.”

The closure of AIBE department has affected exam-related announcements such as AIBE 2020 first session announcement and resolving of 'AIBE XIV missing set code' cases. AIBE exam is held twice in a year, and this time of the year, the application process of AIBE 15 session would have begun. As of now, the country is under an unforeseeable situation due to  COVID-19 pandemic, therefore any exam-related announcement is not confirmed.

The pandemic has affected the exam schedule of all the entrance exams in India and resulted in postponing of exams. Had the department announced of AIBE XV dates and notification, then it would have been postponed due to the same reason.
