Indian Law Institute (ILI) will conduct its Common Admission Test (CAT) also known as ILI CAT 2020 for admissions to LLM course. ILICAT 2020 will be held in a paper-based test mode for a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes. ILI has not shared the exam date of ILI CAT 2020 yet, however, it is expected to be held in August or September. ILI CAT 2020 Preparation Tips
Section-wise preparation – Candidates need to prepare for each section separately as ILI CAT 2020 is divided into three parts. For English and GK, candidates should read books, newspapers, and magazines and make notes. For Legal Aptitude, candidates should clarify the concepts of legal facts, terms and principles of the law subjects and, practice sufficient questions thereafter. For subjective questions on contemporary legal topics, candidates should practise legal writing.
Make a study plan – Candidates need to make a constructive study plan for ILICAT 2020 keeping in mind the exam pattern and syllabus to be covered. The question paper will carry objective as well as, subjective questions therefore; candidates need to allocate their time accordingly. At least, 6-8 hours a day to prepare for ILICAT 2020 would be sufficient. Moreover, the study plan should be subject-specific wherein you cover the syllabus to strengthen your basics and important topics and work on test-taking skills as well.
Gather correct prep material – Candidates also need to get the right study material for each part of ILI CAT 2020 according to the syllabus. This includes preparation books and other resources as recommended by the exam experts. Moreover, you should refer to the past years' paper for ILICAT or the similar law entrance exams such as TS PGLCET, AP PGLCET, CLAT LLM and AILET LLM. Do not get confused and, refer only those books that are best relevant according to the exam pattern and syllabus.
Take mock tests – Candidates should take at least 4-5 mock tests in a week as recommended by law exam experts. This will help in developing speed and accuracy as well as, time-management for all sections of ILI CAT 2020. Mock test will also help you understand your own strengths and weaknesses among the ULSAT subjects.
Work on time management - Although, there is no time limit for ILI CAT, there are subjective questions of 10 marks each that can consume time. Therefore, candidates should work on their time-management for all sections. Solving objective questions on English and GK questions as well as, legal subjects for Part II should not consume more than 1 hour 30 minutes. However, candidates can speed up solving questions with abundant practising.
