Q:   Does Indian Law Institute offer better placements than NLU Delhi?

A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, as part of reforms in the teaching of law, many National Law Universities were set up. One in each state. The concerned state government funds these universities and hence their fees etc. are very minimal. However, these have made a name for themselves in a very short period. As a result of this, many top-notch recruiters come to these NLUs during placements season. As far as the situation in Delhi is concerned, NLU, Delhi placements often fetch higher median salary as compared with Indian Law Institute, a much older establishment. For example, in case of LLM students, median salary is about INR 6LPA in ILS while it's about INR 10LPA in case of NLU Delhi. A similar situation can be observed in the case of law graduation students also. So if you want to join an institution where during placements, students get higher median salary, you must join NLU Delhi.

Best wishes to you.

Q:   Does Indian Law Institute accept CLAT score?

A:

The Indore Institute of Law (IIL) joins over 50 colleges and universities across India that consider CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) scores for admissions into both undergraduate and postgraduate law courses. This widely recognised examination serves as a gateway for aspirants seeking admission to various esteemed institutions in the legal education landscape.

The list of institutions accepting CLAT scores encompasses a diverse range, including National Law Universities (NLUs), private colleges, and universities. Notable institutions like Amity Law School and several colleges in Delhi, such as Lloyd Law College in Greater Noida, Geeta Institute of Law in Panipat, BMU in Gurgaon, Shobhit University in Meerut, GIBS Delhi, and The Northcap University in Gurgaon, use CLAT scores as a criterion for law programme admissions.

It's worth noting that the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD), distinguished among the NLUs, stands as an exception by conducting its independent entrance examination. NLUD does not consider CLAT scores for admissions; instead, it uses its proprietary entrance exam to shortlist candidates. This unique approach emphasises the university's commitment to a customised evaluation process aligned with its specific admission criteria.

CLAT's widespread acceptance underscores its significance as a standardised assessment that facilitates access to a multitude of reputable law programmes across the country, contributing to a streamlined and transparent admission process for law aspirants.

Indian Law Institute of New Delhi is a very prestigious Institute of Delhi that was inaugurated way back in 1957 by the then President of India Dr Rajendra Prasad. This Institute offers various programs like certificate, Diploma and degrees after graduation. For this, it conducts an entrance exam called ILICAT or common admission test of the Indian Law Institute. The test is conducted across India and anyone can appear for it. The only restriction is that the prospective candidates or the students who want to study here must have scored at least 50% marks in their graduation law examination. There is no restriction as to how much of marks the student has scored previously in his or her Class 12.
