FTII rolls out online course on Cinema and Role of Critic

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII)I) has rolled out a new course known as Alocana: Cinema and the role of Critic. The online short course will be conducted from August 3, 2020, to August 28, 2020. The application forms are available now and the last date to apply online for the course is till July 13, 2020. The course will be directed by Rajula Shah, who is a Poet, Filmmaker & Visual Artist, who also writes on Cinema. Students who are interested in the course can apply now as the application window is open for a limited amount of time.

Alocana means to look for something from all sides with a view to its evaluation and the course aims at how one becomes a critic, by witnessing every element before making a judgement. A serious film critic’s review is based on all patterns as their motive is to raise the bar, to bring out faults or glorify what impressed them, how the lighting or the camera angles or the editing is different than the rest of the films created.
