These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.

As we all are aware of the situation where we all are being quarantined at home. The government has also extended the lockdown period and many people are trying to make the most during this period. In the same way, I am also continuing my studies and getting ample time to learn new things.

As some of the papers of the university are still pending, so most of my time I am solving question papers of previous years, going through the syllabus, clarifying my doubts related to the topics and so on. My college - IIBM is also conducting online lectures for our benefit and also they are providing many videos and important notes which are beneficial for self-study. Also, I am studying for some certification course which would be very useful in the future.

To gain the knowledge related to the course I am going through various online books, blogs and videos to understand the concepts, make the foundation strong and help in preparing for the examination.

The technology has developed widely and so are the ways of learning. The most important difference between Online and Offline learning is the ‘Location’. In India, the offline class is a traditional way of learning where students need to reach their respective schools, colleges, or coaching classes to get an education.

On the other hand, online learning gives the flexibility to learn from anywhere around the world, the students simply need to login to the portal or website from the comfort place like home, library or coffee shop.

Another major difference is about ‘Time. Online learning always gives more flexible time than offline learning. Moreover, this is very beneficial for students as they can opt for multiple certification courses. Same benefits are there in both the learning options too. In my opinion, a combination of online and offline learning could be beneficial for students where they could learn offline and in case of any queries they could go through the online lectures or for revising the subjects.

Also, the regular face-to-face interaction helps to clear the doubts in a better way. According to me, I think online learning is good and the government should opt for it in the future.

Apart from studies, I have a keen interest in learning how to do make-up, so I spend some of my time watching the tutorials. After watching many videos and tutorials, I have realised that doing make-up is not an easy task as it seems. Watching videos and reading blogs have helped me a lot to know about various beauty products and learn techniques of makeup.

So, I everyone should make the most of this lockdown and give time to learn new things.
