Mystory@Priyanka Bose: How I chose my career path – Challenges and learnings

2 mins readUpdated on May 16, 2017 16:13 IST

Frankly, I have made the fullest utilization of my school life. In school I was quite inclined towards both co-curricular activities and academics.

In my UG, I did not attend my college since there were no classes. I was regular with my coaching classes since those were much rigorous in studies and course completion. My actual life started in PG from Audyogik Shikshan Mandal's Institute of International Business and Research at Pune where being in academics not only did I earn MCCIA's gold medal in my batch, but also participated in all kinds of presentations, seminars, overseas exposure tour, cultural fests etc. My hostel life was adventurous because I came across my college mates, friends, lifetime buddies.

However, my message is only for upcoming and prominent college going students, that the saying "Hard Work is the Key to Success" not only works in college or small level but does work in corporate also. There is another saying that I have evolved for students, "Smart Work is the Only Way to Success". Corporate industry works for you only if you are well equipped with smart brains.

My hostel life was adventurous because I came across my college mates, friends, lifetime buddies.

The journey from being a student to working in a corporate company is not a cakewalk for sure, but it can be made so, if students are fed from the graduate level only. My experiences have been so prominent for me that I really need another life to recall and understand it, though, one of my great experiences in corporate has been my honesty and I dare say about it that my honesty has actually wound up the fake and unfair businesses and opened the eyes of the people there. Result has been grave but my principles of being honest and fair in every walk of life has proved my worth on this earth.

There should be no regrets when liars of the corporate world show you the way out of their offices. Your worth is much higher than those liars. They don't deserve a worthy person like you and you are not a part of the wicked corporate traps. So when you are shown the way out of the office by your boss just smile and walk away. That reaction of yours is almost killing when you leave your team because they are the closest confidant and they have known you from the deepest of your soul. And then you realize that you have not lost anything except salary. Instead with your honesty you have won the hardest and the costliest thing in the world - people's trust and hearts. Truth always follows a lonely path but the end is always a definite victory.
