No matter in which IIM (IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore or IIM Calcutta) the students get into, the charges would remain the same i.e. Rs 23 Lakh.
After the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) tuition fee hike for its flagship MBA programme, Indiaโs top three B-schools are now charging at par. No matter in which IIM (IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore or IIM Calcutta) the students gets into, the charges would remain the same i.e. Rs 23 Lakh.
According to the reports, no decision to hike fees is taken at IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad in the view of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Media reports suggest, last year, at a lower fee of Rs 19 lakh (not increased), IIM Kozhikode topped the charts with the highest number of full fee waivers.

IIM-A Dean, Shailesh Gandhi said, "The annual fee for PGP MBA and PGP MBA (FABM) is Rs 23 lakhs (batch 2020-22). The programme fee has not been increased this year, considering the COVID-19 situation.โ
The fee waiver data also suggest that during the academic year 2019-20, the IIM-Aโs need-based scholarships were received by 93 first-year students. The MBA fee was Rs 22.5 lakh for the MBA batch 2019-21 at IIM-C but after announcing a fee hike, the same was retracted.

IIM Calcutta, admission chair, Sumanta Basu said, "IIM Calcutta revises the MBA program fee periodically, considering the current inflation and other economic factors. Although the revised fee for the MBA 2020-22 batch was proposed before Covid-19, the concerned authority took cognisance of the current economic situation due to the coronavirus pandemic and decided to scale it down by keeping a two-year MBA fee of Rs 23 lakhs."
At IIM-B, the two-year PGP 2020 batch pays Rs 23 lakh whereas PGP 2019 batch fee was Rs 21 lakh. A total of 6 students received a 100% fee waiver last year and 48 students got a partial fee waiver.

A former IIM director revealed, "After the three older IIMs opted for full autonomy from the government of India, this is probably the first time when their fees are the same. While the fee disparity has not been huge as the input costs are the same, IIM-A tends to have a higher fee than the rest."
Director IIM Kozhikode, Debashis Chatterjee revealed, "Last year's fees of Rs 19 lakh remains, and 27 candidates have received full tuition fee waiver and 17 received partial fee waivers.โ
MHRD also disbursed scholarships, In 2019, around 17 candidates received complete fee waivers. IIM Indore fees also remained unchanged as the previous year at Rs 16 lakh.
