IIFT result 2024 for final selection was declared online at the IIFT website. The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi has released selection criteria for Extempore and Personal Interview (PI) and final selection. The extempore and PI round was conducted in April/May and the final result with the selection list was released by IIFT on May 28, 2024.
Note: For admission to 2024 batch, IIFT did not conduct the entrance exam and selected students on the basis of CAT 2023 score.

Q: When will IIFT shortlist for MBA admission 2024 be announced?
IIFT shortlist for MBA admission 2024 was announced in the last week of April 2024. The shortlist process was announced at the IIFT Delhi website and candidates who will meet the cut off, will be required to fill the shortlist form for participating in the Writing Skill Assessment (WSA), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
The WAT-GD-PI round will be conducted in person at various cities. Selected candidates will be intimated about the same via email. The final admission process will be completed by May so that the classes can commence by June-July.
Q: When will IIFT result 2024 be announced?
Since the IIFT entrance exam was not held this year, only the final result was announced after the PI-WAT round. The final result or the final selection list was released on May 28, 2024. The merit list was released online at the institute website. It was released in the form of downloadable PDFs. The merit list contains selected candidates’ names and roll numbers.
Once the IIFT result is announced, candidates have to fulfill the admission requirement within the deadline which includes accepting of offer, completing admission formalities and paying the admission fees.
Q: Does the IIFT result include sectional scores?
Yes, the IIFT result cum scorecard will include sectional scores along with the overall score of the candidate. Other details that will be mentioned in the IIFT scorecard includes:
- Name of the candidate
- Gender of the candidate
- Date of birth
- Photo of the candidate
- Signature of the candidate
- Date and year of exam
- Exam conducting body
- Exam date and timings
- Registration number

The IIFT scorecard is the main document of proof of candidate’s appearance in the exam and clearing it. Candidates should download a copy of their scorecard immediately after its release and check the information. Q: Is IIFT score valid for admission to other MBA institutes?
IIFT exam score is valid for admission to IIFT Institutes only – IIFT Delhi, IIFT Kolkata and IIFT Kakinada. No other MBA/PGDM institute accepts IIFT exam score for admission. The exam scores are accepted for admission to MBA International Business and MBA Business Analytics. The latter has been introduced in 2023 academic year.
For, 2024-26 batch, the IIFT score will not be accepted by the institute itself too as it has decided to shortlist candidates on the basis of their CAT 2023 score. In fact, the institute will not conduct the IIFT entrance exam for admission to the 2024-26 batch.

The IIFT result cum scorecard is the most important document for MBA admission. Candidates must ensure that the scorecard carries all the details correctly. IIFT scorecard of every candidate contains the following information:

Q: If I clear overall IIFT cut off but not a sectional cut off, will I still be shortlisted for admission round?
If a candidate does not clear the sectional cut-offs of the IIFT entrance exam they will not be shortlisted for essay writing, GD and PI rounds of IIFT admission for MBA-International Business. Clearing sectional cut off is mandatory for getting shortlisted. Candidates preparing for IIFT MBA admission must ensure that they prepare and perform equally well in all the four sections of the exam to meet the sectional cut off.
The sectional and overall cut offs for IIFT MBA admission are different for the Unreserved and Reserved categories but every aspirant has to meet the minimum requirement as set by the institute.
Q: For how long is IIFT exam score valid?
IIFT exam score is valid only for one year. For example, IIFT 2024 exam score will be valid for 2024 academic session only. If one wishes to drop a year, then they will have to appear for IIFT entrance exam next year again which will include fresh registration and payment of application fees. The selection criteria for IIFT MBA exam includes personality assessment and if a candidate does not clear that round, they will not be selected for admission. Thus, candidates must keep in mind that only a good entrance exam score is not enough for IIFT MBA admission.
Q: What if I meet qualifying IIFT cut off but not the final cut off? Will I still be able to get through to the interview round?
No, meeting both sectional and overall IIFT cut offs is mandatory to make it to the interview round of IIFT admission. If a student is unable to meet any of the criteria, he/she will not be shortlisted for the interview round. Similarly, they will have to meet the academic eligibility criteria of a minimum score of 50 per cent in graduation (45 percent for reserved categories) to be eligible for shortlisting for the personality assessment round. For 2024-26 batch admission, the institute will consider CAT score instead of the IIFT entrance exam score. Even in CAT, they will need to meet overall as well as sectional score.
IIFT Exam Score 2024: How to Calculate?
The IIFT entrance exam was last conducted in 2023. The IIFT exam score was calculated on the basis of marks scored in each section of the IIFT question paper. Given below is the marking scheme of each section of the IIFT 2023 exam. This year exam will not be conducted.

Q: What is IIFT cut off?
IIFT cut off is the minimum exam score required to be eligible for the Extempore and Personal Interview (PI) round of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) admission. Shortlisting of candidates for the second round of IIFT admission is based on both sectional and overall IIFT cut offs. Candidates who do not clear the overall or sectional IIFT cut off percentiles are not shortlisted for the second round.
The IIFT cut off is determined by the admission authorities at the institute. The cut offs are released after the announcement for entrance exam result, so that candidates can fill the shortlist form if they meet the minimum score requirement or the cut off.
Q: When will cut offs be announced for IIFT admission 2024-26?
IIFT cut off for admission to 2024-2026 batch was declared in February 2024. The cut offs was released by the institute on its official website along with shortlist criteria and admission process details. Since, for admission to the batch of 2024-2026 will be based on CAT 2023, the cut offs are based on the same. For 2024-2026 batch:
Sectional cut off for General category is 55 and and composite cut off is 30%.
For Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL, the sectional cut off is 50 and the composite cut off is 25%.
For, SC/ST/PwD/Kashmiri Migrants, Kashmiri Pandits, the sectional cut off is 30 and composite cut off is 20 %.
For the previous batch of MBA International Business programme, the IIFT cut offs for General category was 40 percentile, whereas for General-EWS and NC-OBC categories, the cut off was 35 percentile. For SC/ST/PwD/KashmiriMigrants/Non-Migrants, the IIFT cut off 2023 was 30 percentile.
Q: Do MBA admission cut offs vary for different IIFT campuses?
Yes, the MBA admission cut offs of IIFT Delhi, IIFT Kolkata and IIFT Kakinada are different. Since the IIFT Delhi is the main campus, the admission cut offs are higher for this campus. IIFT Kolkata cut offs are lower than IIFT Delhi cut offs and IIFT Kakinada cut offs are the lowest.
However, all the three institutes follow the common admission process for MBA-International Business programme, which includes Writing Ability Test, Personal Interview and Group Discussion. Candidates have to clear all the rounds for securing a seat in MBA programme offered at any campus.
What After IIFT Result 2024?
After the declaration of IIFT result (CAT 2023 result for 2024-2026 MBA batch), the institute will release a merit list of candidates shortlisted for admission to its MBA-International Business programme. The shortlist will be released in the month of April, after the registrations of foreign candidates have been completed.
This list will contain the name and roll number of candidates shortlisted for the second phase of IIFT admission process, i.e. Essay Writing, GD and PI. To participate in this phase, candidates will have to fill up an online form on the official website.
IIFT will conduct Written Skill Assessment, GD and PI round in Apirl/May 2024 at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai. The GD/PI can also be conducted online. Eversince the COVID-19 pandemic, the PI and extempore rounds have been conducted online. The schedule for this round of IIFT admission will be mailed to the selected candidates.

Q: I belong to the SC category. What will be the IIFT admission cut-off for me?
Yes, IIFT admission cut-offs for different categories will be different. For the SC category students, the cut offs are lower than that of General category students. Given below is the table indicating IIFT cut offs 2023 for each category. You can see that the cut off was the highest for General category, followed by General-EWS / OBC-NCL category students and SC / ST / PwD.

This year, IIFT MBA admissions will be based on CAT 2023 scores. The CAT cut offs for IIFT will be released in March 2024. It is expected that CAT cut offs for SC category students will be low as well.
Q: Will I be considered for GD and Interview round even if I don't meet the IIFT cut off criteria?
No, the minimum eligibility criteria to be selected for Group Discussion/Extempore and Interview round of IIFT is meeting the admission cut off released after the declaration of IIFT entrance exam result. Candidates have to clear the both the sectional and overall cut offs to be eligible for extempore and PI shortlisting. Apart from the cut offs, candidates also have to meet the academic eligibility criteria which is minimum 50 per cent aggregate for General students and 45 per cent aggregate for Reserved category students.
Candidates must note that the minimum academic criteria is only the eligibility criteria and may not ensure selection for Group Discussion/Extempore and Interview round of IIFT MBA admission.
Q: What is the cut off score for IIFT Delhi?
IIFT Delhi admission 2023 was based on candidates' performance in the IIFT entrance exam. Shortlisting of candidates for IIFT Delhi admission is done based on marks scored by them in the entrance exam. A minimum cut off is fixed for this purpose. The minimum cut off varies from one year to another. IIFT cut offs are different for different category students. Candidates who meet the admission cut off are selected for Extempore and PI rounds.

IIFT Shortlist and Selection Process 2024
The IIFT admission process begins with shortlisting of candidates. The institute conducts a personality assessment of the candidates who meet the IIFT cut off for admission. This personality assessment includes Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD)/Extempore and Personal Interview (PI).
Once this round is over, the institute evaluates each candidate who took the IIFT exam and participated in EW, GD and PI on several parameters. Some of the key parameters on which a candidate is evaluated are listed below:

IIFT Essay Writing
IIFT essay writing is a 20-minute test in which the candidates are given a topic to write a short essay. The candidates are divided in groups of eight. Each group gets one essay topic, 5 minutes to think and 15 minutes to write. The topics can vary from business & economics to politics & society.
IIFT Group Discussion/Extempore
IIFT group discussion is typically of 30-40 minutes during which a group of candidates gets a topic to discuss its pros and cons. In the first round, each candidate gets one minute to speak on the topic. After that, the floor is thrown open for the entire group for discussion. The motive behind group discussion is to assess the candidate's leadership qualities, communication skills and ability to convince others.
In case, an Extempore is conducted instead of a GD, candidates will have to speak on a given topic making a convincing argument for or against it. They can also be expected to simply share their opinion on the given topic.
IIFT Personal Interview
The personal interview round of IIFT admission is the real test. According to the experience of IIFT pass-outs, the interviewers ask interviewees questions related to their work experience, hobbies and academic history. The questions generally range from, “tell us about yourself” to why did you leave engineering field”. Personal interview is conducted to assess the candidate’s communication abilities and analytical & problem solving skills.

Q: When will IIFT 2024 exam be conducted?
IIFT 2024 exam was not conducted. Admission to the IIFT MBA programmes for 2024-26 batch was done through CAT 2023 score. The announcement was made by IIFT in August that it will accept CAT score for admission and that aspirants should register for it. CAT 2023 exam was held on November 26, 2023.
IIFT admission forms were released in October 2023, which the aspirants had to fill to be eligible for selection and shortlisting for WAT-PT round of the MBA admission process.
Until 2022, the IIFT entrance exam was held nationwide in the month of December. It was conducted by the NTA.
Q: When does GD/PI round of IIFT admission process take place?
IIFT conducts the Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round for IIFT admission in March and April. The WAT round is a 20-minute essay writing session in which a candidate is given a topic to write. In 2023, the institute had planned to conduct WAT-GD-PI face to face, but most of the candidates opted for online assessment, thus the PI was conducted through video call and GD was replaced with extempore. The institute will announced admission process for 2024 batch in February 2024.

IIFT may conduct the WAT-PI and GD in online mode for 2024 admissions as in 2023, the institute gave option to candidates to appear for this round of shortlisting of candidates for MBA-International Business and MBA-Business Analytics admissions in person or online. Most of the candidates opted for the online mode thus, the institute conducted the personality assessment round online via video conferencing.
The IIFT WAT-PI and GD round was conducted online in 2020, 2021 and 2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic in which WAT and GD were replaced by Extempore. Before that, the selection round was conducted face to face every year.
