Slamming the media for running fake news, NTA assures the candidates that NEET 2020 results announced on October 16 are correct.

In an official notification, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured that the NEET 2020 result announced on October 16 is absolutely correct. NTA stated that the result for NEET 2020 was prepared after thorough scrutiny and that there are no errors in it.

A recent media report claimed that a certain candidate with 329 marks challenged the NEET 2020 result, following which his marks were revised to 650. Referring to this news, NTA has clearly stated that no such incident has happened. The notification read, โ€˜The news is totally fake, fabricated and one sided only. The news channel should have confirmed from NTA before broadcasting this fake newsโ€™.

In the same notification, NTA has mentioned that students/parents have been sending emails regarding errors in the answers marked on the OMR sheets on the exam day and the ones available online. Concerns have also been raised regarding the variation in the scorecard released on October 16 and the one available now. NTA has assured that all genuine grievances will be addressed in time.

NEET 2020 was conducted on September 13 and October 14. The examination was conducted across 155 test cities and 3,862 test centres on September 13. However, many candidates were unable to appear for NEET 2020 on the said test date. As directed by the Supreme Court of India, NEET 2020 retest was conducted on October 14 at 110 test centres across 110 test cities. NEET 2020 result was announced on October 16. NEET 2020 counselling dates to be announced next.
