The Supreme Court of India has directed the Central Government to accommodate NEET 2020 aspirants residing outside India in the Vande Bharat flights. A three-jugde bench, which included Justice L Nageswara Rao, Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice S Ravindra Bhat, have asked the government to ensure that such students reach their exam centres on the designated date and time for NEET 2020.
Many students residing in the Gulf countries appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test every year. This year, owing to the COVID-19 situation and the resultant travel bans, NEET 2020 aspirants from these countries are unable to the travel to their exam centres for the examination. However, presently these flights are flying only the distressed migrant labourers, stranded students or those who have family emergencies. After the direction from the apex court of India, NEET 2020 aspirants will also be given priority on these flights.
