What is NCHMCT JEE?

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT JEE) is a national level hospitality entrance exam for admission in BSc (Hospitality & Hotel Administration). The exam is held annually and it is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT). The 3 years BSc (HHA) course is offered by NCHMCT jointly with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The NCHM JEE score is accepted by all the participating Institutes for admission to the BSc (HHA) courses offered by their respective institutions.

NCHMCT JEE scores are utilized by the Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) for admission. There are about 21 central IHMs, 25 state IHMs,1 PSU IHM, and 27 Private IHMs that are affiliated to NCHMCT and offer BSc (HHA) courses and the admission is based on NCHMCT JEE.

The NCHMCT JEE 2025 Question Paper will be in two languages; i.e. English and Hindi. The total duration of the exam will be 180 minutes and all questions are of Multiple Choice Type. 200 questions are framed from Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, English Language, and Aptitude for Service Sector.

NCHMCT JEE Application Form 2025

The registration process for NCHMCT JEE 2025 will likely begin in February. NCHMCT JEE 2025 Application Dates will be released along with the official notification. Candidates will get at least a month or two to complete the application process. Candidates can pay the NCHMCT JEE 2025 application fee online via credit/ debit card/ net banking/ Paytm. Candidates must fill the NCHMCT JEE Application Form on or before the last date. Candidates can apply for NCHMCT JEE 2025 in online mode only. NCHMCT JEE Eligibility Criteria 2025

To fill out the NCHMCT JEE 2025 registration form, candidates must meet the NCHMCT JEE 2025 eligibility criteria. Check out the eligibility criteria for the NHCMCT JEE 2025 below:

Age limit: There is an upper age limit for the candidates. The age limit is a defined category wise, check below:

  • Upper age limit for General, General (EWS) and OBC categories - 25 years as of July 01, 2025, ie, candidates born on or after July 01, 1998, are eligible
  • SC, ST candidates and Physically challenged candidates - 25 years as of July 01, 2025, ie, candidates born on or after July 01, 1996, are eligible

Qualification: There are no minimum marks that candidates need in their qualifying exam. However, they need to fulfil the following conditions:

  • Must have passed or must be appearing in 10+2.
  • English must be a compulsory subject.

List of qualifying exams: The list of qualifying exams are as follows:

  • Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised university.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University
  • Any Public School / Board / University Examination in India or in a foreign country that should be recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) / Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

NCHMCT JEE 2025 Admission

The admission process of NCHMCT JEE is as follows:

Step 1: Fill the application form for NCHMCT JEE 2025

NTA will provide the application form filling process of NCHMCT JEE 2025 in the online mode only. The candidates can check their eligibility and fill the form in online mode only. The application form filling process will include the below-given steps:

  • Registration
  • Filling the form
  • Uploading scanned images
  • Payment of the application fee

Step 2: Download the admit card

Candidates will have to download the admit card from the official website. Only the registered candidates will be issued the admit card for NCHMCT JEE.

Step 3: Appear for the exam

Candidates will have to appear for the CBT of NCHMCT JEE 2025 as per the date and time given on the admit card.

Step 4: Answer Key, Question Papers, Response Sheet

NTA will release the answer keys of NCHMCT JEE. The answer key will have the correct answers to all the questions that are asked in the test. Using the marking scheme of the test, candidates can calculate the probable score they are getting before the results are out. However, this will not be treated as a final score.

With the answer key, NCHMCT JEE 2025 question papers will also be made available. The question papers will have all the questions that were asked on the exam day.

Step 5: Check result

Once the exam is over, NTA will announce the result of NCHMCT JEE 2025. However, before the answer key, response sheet and question papers will also be uploaded on the official website. The result will be made available in the form of a scorecard.

NCHMCT JEE 2025 Result and Merit List

The exam authority will publish a combined merit list with ranked candidates as mentioned in NCHMCT JEE 2025 results. The ranking / merit of the candidates will be decided based on the NTA score. In case, two or more candidates get the same score then, tie-breaking criteria will be applied that is given below:

  1. Candidates securing higher marks in the English component of NCHMCT JEE 2025 will rank higher.
  2. In case of candidates securing equal marks in NCHM-JEE 2025, as well as in the English component of NCHM-JEE 2025, then the candidate securing higher marks in the Service Aptitude Component of NCHM-JEE will rank higher.
  3. If the tie is still there, then the candidate older in age will ranked higher.

Step 6: Counselling

NCHMCT will conduct the counselling for admission to NCHMCT JEE 2025 participating colleges. After the declaration of the Result, the NCHM JEE Score 2025 will be provided by NTA to NCHMCT to conduct the counselling for admission to the BSc (HHA) courses.

NCHMCT JEE 2025 Syllabus

There is no specific syllabus for the NCHM JEE provided by NTA or NCHM. However, based on the indicative topics mentioned in the exam brochure and the analysis of previous years' NCHM JEE question papers, the key areas from which questions are typically derived are listed below:

Numerical Ability & Analytical Aptitude: Topics include Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Time & Distance, Ratio & Proportion, Fractions & Decimals, Square Root, Simplification, Logarithms, Unitary Method, HCF & LCM, among others.

Reasoning & Logical Deductions: This section covers Statement Conclusion, Symmetry, Coding & Decoding, Series, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Data Interpretation, Analytical Reasoning, Linear & Complex Arrangements, Symbols & Notations, Statement Assumptions, etc.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Key topics include Prizes & Awards, World Statistics, Inventions & Discoveries, International Organisations, Sports, Disasters, Currencies, Books, etc.

English Language: This section includes Fill in the Blanks, Paragraph/Sentence Completion, Idioms & Phrases, Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies, Vocabulary, Spelling Errors, One-Word Substitution, etc.

Aptitude for Service Sector: This includes questions related to the service sector aptitude.nation (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  - High School Certificate Examination of Cambridge University.

NTA will publish NCHMCT JEE Result a few weeks after the exam. Candidates can check and download their NCHMCT JEE scorecard 2025 from the direct link available on this page. Only candidates who appeared for NCHMCT JEE 2025 will be issued scorecards mentioning marks, ranks, and qualifying status. NTA will send the scorecards of NCHMCT JEE 2025 to the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) for conducting counselling and seat allotment process of the qualified candidates. Candidates can check NCHMCT JEE 2025 results by using their application number and date of birth. 

NCHMCT JEE 2025 Counselling

As per the NCHMCT JEE Counselling Schedule will be released by the NTA. The NCHMCT JEE 2025 counselling registration will be done at nchmcounselling.nic.in.
