An official notification has also been released in this regard by the General Administration Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The government of Andhra Pradesh permitted all government employees including contract workers and teachers who profess Islam to leave their workplace an hour early. An official notification has also been released in this regard by the General Administration Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

A tweet posted by the news agency ANI informs, All government employees, teachers, contract workers, who profess Islam, are permitted to leave offices/ schools early by one hour in the evening on all working days during the month of Ramzan from April 3, 2022, to May 2, 2022: Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The official notice released by the General Administration Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh reads, “Government hereby permit all the Government Servants, Teachers, Persons hired on contract and outsourcing personnel, who profess Islam to leave offices/schools early by one hour in the evening on all working days during the Holy Month of 'Ramzan' i.e. from 03.04.2022 to 02.05.2022 (both days Inclusive) to perform necessary rituals, except when their presence Is required due to exigencies of services during the said period.”

NDMC scraps order permitting Muslim employees to wrap up work early

Earlier, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) also released a similar order permitting its Muslim employees to wrap up work an hour earlier during Ramzan. However, the Council withdrew its order after objections from the civic agency’s vice-chairman and BJP leader Satish Upadhyay who told officials that the relaxation on grounds of religion was “unsecular”, people familiar with the matter said.
