Union Minister of AYUSH and Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has announced many initiatives today in Uttarakhand including 100 wellness centres.

Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of AYUSH and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, has participated in the AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy)Samvaad at Alaknanda Ghat, Haridwar today and announced many initiatives.

He said, "In the coming time, Central and state governments will work together to execute important projects. Through the National Ayush Mission 10 bed hospital, mobile AYUSH unit, homoeopathic medical colleges, 50 bedded AYUSH government hospital will be established. The AYUSH ministry will also arrange for a 50-bed Unani hospital, and 100 AYUSH wellness centres will be established at different places. The herbal gardens will be created in 200 schools here."

Ministry of Ayush tweet reads, "Union Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal announced many projects for Uttarakhand including 10-bed hospital, AYUSH mobile unit, Homeopathy medical colleges, 50 bed upgraded Ayush hospital, 50-bed Unani hospital and 100 Ayush wellness centre."

Another tweet by the Ministry of Ayush says, "Also, Ayurveda University will get marm treatment centre and herbal gardens will be created. These announcements were made by Sarbananda Sonowal in Haridwar Alaknanda Ghat during the AYUSH Samvaad program."

Sarbananda Sonowal tweet says, "Glad to attend the Ayush Samvaad at Alkananda Ghat in Haridwar in presence of Uttarakhand CM Shri @pushkardhami ji. Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, the abode of spirituality, is carrying forward India's ancient traditional systems of medicine and is blessed with rich natural resources."

The other dignitaries present in the event were Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand AYUSH Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, and Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH Rajesh Kotecha. 

During the pandemic time, AYUSH practices got immense popularity as it is believed to treat patients holistically and also boosts people's immunity. National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently included AYUSH training in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) internship program.
