Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of AYUSH, has virtually unveiled 50 Bed Integrated AYUSH Hospital In Moreh, Manipur.

Union Minister of AYUSH and Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has virtually inaugurated a 50 Bed Integrated Ayush Hospital in Moreh, Manipur.

The Union Minister was in Imphal as Special Guest of Honour in the program ‘Phytopharmaceutical Mission to promote the documentation, scientific validation and evaluation of traditional healthcare practices of North-East India’.

AYUSH Minister tweet reads, "In today's program in Imphal, various initiatives have been taken up for development of the #AYUSH sector in Manipur. Virtually inaugurated a 50 Bed Integrated Ayush Hospital in Moreh which will provide huge benefit to citizens of the region."

He also announced major initiatives for developing and promoting AYUSH treatments in the state. He said that the Ministery of AYUSH has decided to develop 15 AYUSH dispensaries, seven 10 Bed Hospital, 100 School Herbal Gardens, 16 Nurseries in each district and 50 Health and Wellness Centres(HWCs) in Manipur.

He said he is confident that after these schemes get completed, more support will be provided to the AYUSH industry and the people of Manipur will also get inspired to develop medicinal plants. It will generate employment in the state and will also bring growth to the industry.

“The women of Manipur have a unique and strong identity in the community. I urge the women to come forward and take steps to promote these medicinal plants. I assure you that we will provide the markets for your products which will not only develop the spirit of entrepreneurship, make an Aatmanirbhar Manipur but also benefit farmers and reach the aim of doubling their farm income,” said the Union Minister.

AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) includes the alternative forms of treatment practised in India. These systems are believed to be providing natural and holistic treatment to the patients. It gained more popularity during Covid-19 pandemic as people realised the significance of a strong immune system.
