DU is accepting CUCET for admission to the 2022-23 session. Check whether the DU JAT admission process will change after acceptance of CUCET 2022 for DU admissions.
Delhi University had been offering UG admissions based on the performance in Class 12. A cutoff score was defined by the college, which led to merit-based admissions into Delhi University. To calculate the merit, candidates had to evaluate the best-of-four score. Candidates whose best-four score met the cutoff score were eligible for admission. However, admission to all UG courses at DU was not based on the discussed process, DU JAT and DUET were the entrance exams for some of the professional courses such as BBA (FIA), BMS, BBE, BTech, etc.
For DU Joint Admission Test, conducted for BBA (FIA), BMS, and BBE admissions, the selection process includes a weightage of 65:35 for entrance exam scores and Class 12 best four scores. With the acceptance of CUCET instead of Class 12 merit for admission, DU JAT aspirants are worried about the selection process.
Delhi University's academic council is yet to revisit the admission process for admissions. There is a possibility of providing a weightage to both Class 12 scores and CUCET scores for the admission that were based on merit. No change in the selection process of entrance based admissions is expected. Students considering admissions to BBA (FIA), BMS, or BBE need to appear for one entrance exam only, DU JAT 2022.
DU JAT 2022 Selection Process
Delhi University is not likely to change the selection criteria that is based on DU JAT. The weightage for entrance exam scores and Class 12 scores are mentioned below:
- Entrance exam scores: 65 per cent
- Class 12 scores (best-four): 35 per cent
A meeting of Delhi University’s academic council, for acceptance of CUCET and the admission process, is scheduled for March 22. With the resolution on the CUCET based admission process, Delhi University will soon issue a press release.
