Xavier's Entrance Test for BMS and BA MCJ

St Xavier’s College, Mumbai, started the XET 2022 exam on June 24. Candidates can appear for the exam before June 29 as per the date mentioned on their admit cards. With the exam window ending, Xavier’s College is expected to release the merit lists for BMS and BA MCJ admission soon. The schedule for the release of the merit lists is yet to be notified. Test takers will find the category-wise merit lists in multiple rounds. With the release of each merit list, candidates will be notified of a specified date until which the candidates can pay the admission fee. Candidates failing to pay the admission fee before the specified date gets their admission lapsed. The varsity will offer the specified seat to the next best candidate in the subsequent admission round.

How is Xavier’s BMS/ BA MCJ Merit List Compiled?

St Xavier’s College will compute the merit rank of the candidate based on specified weightage for the below-mentioned elements:

  • 60% weightage to the scores in Xavier’s Entrance Test
  • 40% weightage to the scores in Class 12 exam

St Xavier’s College: Reservation Criteria

Besides the performance parameters mentioned above, reservation criteria plays a crucial role in deciding the merit rank of the candidate. The reservation criteria followed for BMS, and BA MCJ admission includes:

Remaining Seats*

85%

Seats reserved for Christian minority

50% of the remaining seats

40% for Maharashtra state board candidates

60% for the candidates passed with other education boards

Seats for General category

42% of the remaining seats

40% for Maharashtra state board candidates

60% for the candidates who passed with other education boards

Seats reserved for PWD category

5% of the remaining seats

Seats reserved for special categories

3% of the remaining seats

Seats under Christian minority and general category have a further reservation of 40% seats for the candidates who passed Class 12 with the Maharashtra state education board.
