The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in its latest post clarified that it has not communicated anything to the Ministry regarding the conduct of the Biannual CBSE Board Exam 2024.
CBSE not capable of conducting board exams twice a year? While various media reports said that the Board has informed the Ministry of Education about its inability to conduct CBSE 10th, 12th Board Exams 2024 Bi-Annually, the Board has refuted the claims. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in its latest post clarified that it has not communicated anything to the Ministry regarding the conduct of the Biannual CBSE Board Exam 2024.
CBSE Board Exams Twice Not This Year
CBSE has dismissed various reports claiming that it has told the Ministry that conduct of CBSE Board Exam 2024 Class 10, 12 twice a year was not possible under the current academic schedule. However, it is confirmed that the Board will not be conducting the CBSE Board Exams 2024-25 twice. Reports regarding conduct of Biannual CBSE Board Exams from 2025-26 session onwards are making rounds.
CBSE through its official social media platform X (formerly Twitter) said, βThe imputation in this news item as regards CBSE's views in the matter being raised therein is denied. It is totally incorrect and does not have any basis in any communication made between the Ministry and CBSE.β
A few media houses including Hindustan Times Delhi Edition published the news regarding CBSEβs inability to conduct Board Exams Biannually. It has also reported that the same is communicated to the Ministry of Education during a program on the National Curriculum Framework 2023 on June 25 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi
Since CBSE schools are present worldwide, it is impossible to conduct CBSE board exams in two shifts in the present system and policies, the board reasoned, as per the media reports. Last year, the suggestion to conduct CBSE Board Exams Twice a Year was made by National Curriculum Framework (NCF) to provide students with additional chances to perform well and receive high exam scores. NCF also suggested that the initiative would lessen the workload and strain on the students.
