Following the submission of the land certificates, the CBSE initiated a verification process by forwarding the documents to the relevant authorities. The verification revealed that the certificates provided by both schools were not issued by the concerned authorities, prompting the board to take immediate action.
In a recent crackdown on fraudulent practices, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has filed police complaints against two schools in Delhi for submitting fake documents during their affiliation process. The institutions in question, Manava Bhawna Public School in Burari and Sat Saheb Public School in Uttam Nagar, provided forged land certificates as part of their affiliation applications.
Following the submission of the land certificates, the CBSE initiated a verification process by forwarding the documents to the relevant authorities. The verification revealed that the certificates provided by both schools were not issued by the concerned authorities, prompting the board to take immediate action.
CBSE Takes Swift Action, Files Police Complaint
In response to the discovery of the fake documents, the CBSE filed a police complaint with the Preet Vihar Police Station. In an official statement, the CBSE clarified its stringent process for school affiliation: "The CBSE affiliates schools under different categories for the purpose of conducting public examinations for students sponsored by these affiliated schools. The Board grants affiliation only upon fulfillment of mandatory conditions outlined in the Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018. The documents submitted by the schools undergo strict scrutiny, and their authenticity is verified by the issuing authority."
Previous Incidents of Fake Documents and Misconduct
This incident follows a similar case in March 2024, when the CBSE urged Delhi Police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against a school in Prayagraj for submitting a fake ‘No Objection Certificate’ as part of its affiliation process. The CBSE has repeatedly emphasized the importance of ensuring the genuineness of documents submitted by schools seeking affiliation.
In a related incident, the CBSE recently issued show-cause notices to 34 affiliated schools for participating in sports events organized by the CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO), which is not recognized by the Board. Despite prior warnings, these schools continued to associate with the Agra-based body, which led the CBSE to take firm action.
Strengthening Vigilance Against Fake Documents
These actions are part of CBSE’s ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of its affiliation process and ensure that schools meet all necessary criteria for recognition. The Board has made it clear that it will continue to conduct rigorous scrutiny of documents submitted by schools and take legal action against those found engaging in fraudulent practices.
The CBSE’s commitment to upholding high standards for school affiliations reflects its dedication to maintaining transparency and accountability in the education system. As the board continues to uncover fraudulent activities, it encourages all institutions to comply with the established guidelines and ensure the authenticity of all documentation.
