The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revoked the affiliation of 20 schools due to their involvement in malpractices. Specifically, five schools located in Delhi have been among those disaffiliated by the Board

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a stringent stance against schools allegedly involved in malpractices, leading to the disaffiliation of 20 institutions and the downgrade of three others across the country. CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta revealed that this action follows surprise inspections, which unearthed violations in adherence to affiliation and examination norms.

The affected schools are spread across various states, with five located in Delhi, alongside others in Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Dehradun, Assam, and Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, schools in Delhi, Punjab, and Assam have seen their affiliations downgraded.

A notification from CBSE stated, "Pursuant to the surprise inspection in CBSE schools across the country to check whether the schools are running as per the provisions and norms contained in Affiliation and Examination Bye-laws, it was found that some schools were committing various malpractices of presenting dummy students, ineligible candidates, and not maintaining records properly. After thorough inquiry, it has been decided to disaffiliate and downgrade the following schools."

The list of disaffiliated schools includes Prince UCH Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Sikar, Rajasthan; Global Indian International School in Jodhpur, Rajasthan; Dronacharya Public School in Raipur, Chattisgarh; and others across various states. The three schools whose affiliations have been downgraded are The Vivekanand School in Narela, Delhi; Sri Dasmesh Senior Secondary Public School in Talwandi Sabo, Distt Batinda, Punjab; and Sreeram Academy in Barpeta, Assam.
