The teacher training programme aims to share multi-sensory pedagogic processes involved in experiential learning, sensitise Educators to implement it in their classrooms and make learning more joyful, reflective and multidisciplinary.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched a teacher training programme in collaboration with Tata Trusts. The two organisations developed an interactive online course on "experiential learning" for the teachers and school leaders. All CBSE-affiliated schools are asked to encourage their teachers and school leaders to join this free online course "mandatorily".
Union Human Resource Development Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced the launch of the teacher training through his official Twitter account. The minister wrote, “With the objective to promote experiential learning pedagogy in schools, cbseindia29 in association with @tatatrusts has come up with an #innovative & interactive online course on ‘Experiential Learning’ via #DIKSHA meant for Teachers and School Leaders.”
CBSE launched the programme to help teachers impart 21st-century skills among children. The official statement released by CBSE states, “As our country fights the Covid-19 pandemic, educationists world over have realized that education has to take many leaps forward for a world where children are emotionally and physically resilient to face the challenges of a different world to come. For this, we need to create opportunities for children to learn the skills and competencies for the 21st Century that correspond to both livelihood and well-being.”
This course is now available on the DIKSHA portal, which aims to share multi-sensory pedagogic processes involved in experiential learning, sensitise Educators to implement it in their classrooms and make learning more joyful, reflective and multidisciplinary.
