CBSE is yet to take a decision on whether to continue with split terms or return to one Board exam pattern. As per reports, it is likely to move away from the term wise system.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to take a decision on how the next academic year will pan out, whether to return to one Board exam pattern or continue with the bifurcated term exams, is yet to be decided. Amidst all this, reports say that CBSE is likely to go do away with the term wise exams system. While it is likely for the reduced syllabus norm to continue, CBSE board exams can be held only once from the next academic year. CBSE offers 114 subjects in Class 12 and 75 subjects in Class 10. In total, it conducts exams for 189 subjects.

In 2021, amid the second wave of COVID-19, the Board had cancelled the examinations and the result was declared on the basis of an alternative assessment scheme. Thereafter, it announced the split of the 2021-22 academic session into two terms. While, the first term exams were conducted in November/December, the CBSE Term 2 exams 2022 are scheduled from April 26 for both classes 10 and 12.
Recently, the board announced that the final CBSE Results 2022 will only be announced after combining Term 1 and Term 2 marks.
