To create awareness regarding the rapidly spreading deadly pandemic, novel coronavirus, the CBSE has started a helpline for students and parents.

In the wake of novel coronavirus spread in India, all educational institutes are closed and examinations are suspended. During this stressful period, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is running the 23rd edition of free of cost CBSE annual pre-exam psychological live Tele counselling for class 10 and class 12 students. The timings for the telecast are 8 am to 10 pm. Now, to create awareness regarding the rapidly spreading deadly pandemic, novel coronavirus, the CBSE has started a helpline for students and parents.

The facility is available on the same toll-free number i.e. 1800118004 from 8 AM to 8 PM up to March 31, 2020. Talking about the helpline number in an official statement, the CBSE stated that the Board has used multiple mediums like social media, internet, memes, guidelines to create public awareness regarding COVID-19 among students and teachers. To prevent the virus spread, the Board also changed the seating arrangements in the examination hall.

As a precautionary measure, CBSE postponed the remaining class 10 and class 12 Board Examinations that were earlier scheduled between March 19 and 31. The Board also suspended the evaluation work to safeguard its staff members.

The CBSE Tele counselling service against coronavirus outbreak will be generated by trained counsellors. The counsellors will talk to the students and parents and will make them aware of preventive interventions, reducing transmission, and first-aid to control the virus spread.

As the schools are closed suspending the examinations and classes, there is a need to keep students free from all this stress and connected with studies. In order to do the same, these counsellors will try and engage students in useful and productive activities while being at home.
