The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will not conduct any examinations for the class 10 and 12 students studying outside India.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will not conduct any examinations for class 10th and 12th students, studying in schools located outside India. There are several CBSE schools that are located in 25 countries.

During these crucial times, when many countries are under a lockdown or have decided to close down their schools for various and differential lengths of time, it will be difficult for the Board to hold a differential set of examinations for each of these countries, CBSE said in a statement.

In the present situation, it will be difficult to get the answer sheets to India for the evaluation process. For that, we are working on marking and assessment systems to be followed for the purpose of declaring the CBSE results in these schools and we will be informing them shortly, the statement added.

At this stage, it is very difficult for the Board to announce any new schedule of examinations for class 10th and 12th. Therefore, we have decided not to conduct any more exams for the students studying in these classes, the Board said.

The CBSE, however, said that any decision about conducting the examination will be taken after thorough consultation with higher education authorities and with keeping all aspects related to it like entrance exams, admissions dates, etc. in mind.

The education ministry has also directed the Board to resume the examinations for class 10th and 12th only for the main subjects.

No examination will be conducted for the remaining examination, said an official statement.

The Board exams were postponed amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
