For students preparing for board exams, Siddhant suggests a balanced approach. “It's crucial to have a clear strategy and not to overburden yourself. Focus on understanding the concepts thoroughly and practice as much as you can with previous years' papers.

Siddhant Singhania, a student of Shiv Nadar School, Noida, has emerged as the top scorer in his school with an impressive 98.4% in the CBSE Class 12 board examinations announced this week. Siddhant achieved stellar marks, scoring 98 each in Physics and Mathematics, and is now gearing up for the JEE Advanced exam scheduled on May 26.

A Journey of Dedication and Strategic Preparation

Siddhant’s academic journey is marked by rigorous preparation and strategic planning. “My father encouraged me the most throughout my journey. He guided me in choosing resources, books, and question banks for different subjects and advised me to solve previous year papers. His suggestions on how to write board answers to obtain maximum marks were invaluable,” Siddhant shared.

With a disciplined routine, Siddhant began his studies early in the morning, starting around 5-6 am, taking a break around 8 or 9 am, and then continuing from 11 am until lunch. Post-lunch sessions included mock tests to reinforce his learning. “I avoided overpreparation and exhausting myself unnecessarily, but it was necessary to give the preparation quite a lot of time due to the huge syllabus,” he added.

A significant part of Siddhant’s strategy involved focusing on previous years’ papers. “The Board Examinations follow a very similar pattern every year, so I solidified my knowledge of chapters by doing previous years’ questions and analyzing papers to identify questions most likely to repeat. This strategy proved quite fruitful in Computer Science, Physics, and Chemistry. Moreover, I ensured to read and understand the NCERT thoroughly for most subjects,” he explained.

Siddhant's Advice for Aspiring Students

For students preparing for board exams, Siddhant suggests a balanced approach. “It's crucial to have a clear strategy and not to overburden yourself. Focus on understanding the concepts thoroughly and practice as much as you can with previous years' papers. This not only helps in familiarizing yourself with the exam pattern but also boosts your confidence.”

Currently, Siddhant is preparing for the JEE Advanced exam, with aspirations to pursue his undergraduate studies either in India, aiming for an IIT, or in Singapore, targeting institutions like NUS or NTU. He has a keen interest in Mathematics and, considering current career trends and demands, he believes that Computer Science would be the right fit for his higher education.

Siddhant’s dedication and methodical approach to his studies have not only earned him top marks in his school but also set a strong foundation for his future academic endeavors.
