All media reports claiming that the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the exams for class 5th, 8th,10th and 12th soon after the lockdown is uplifted is fake, said Govind Singh Dotasra, State Education Minister.

Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra has clarified that the state board had never made any announcement about conducting exams for class 5th 8th, 10th, and 12th from April 16, 2020, after the lockdown is lifted.

All media reports making rounds on social media platforms are fake, he added.

Earlier, after the government had announced the 21-day lockdown due to coronavirus, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) had postponed all the board exams for class 5th, 8th, 10th, and 12th. However, recently several media houses reported that the Rajasthan Board 10th and 12th Exam 2020, as well as 5th and 8th Class Exams held by District Institute for Education and Training (DIET), will be held by the board form 16th April 2020, once the lockdown is uplifted.

Refuting to all media reports, Dotasra said that the board has not issued any official statement regarding the revised examination schedule for RBSE Board Exams 2020. and this has led to a lot of confusion,  panic, and concern among the students and their parents who are waiting for the exams to be resumed.

He also said that currently, no dates have been finalized for pending papers of RBSE 5th, 8th, 10th, and 12th Board Exams.

As per the estimates given by RBSE, Ajmer, a total of 20.50 lakh students will be appearing for the 10th and 12th Class Board Examinations. Of this, 11.35 lakh students will be appearing for the Rajasthan Board Class 10th Exam 2020, while the rest 8.67 lakh students are appearing for the RBSE Class 12th Class exam for all three streams i.e. Arts, Commerce, and Science.
