Vocational students allowed to pursue engineering courses

BTech Admissions 2022: Tamil Nadu higher education minister K Ponmudy has announced that students who have studied vocational courses in schools are now allowed to join engineering courses in Anna University, its affiliated varsities, and government engineering colleges from this academic year. The latest update in Anna University Admissions 2022 for engineering courses was announced by Tamil Nadu higher education minister K Ponmudy on Monday, June 28, 2022.

2% quota for vocational students for engineering admissions

The minister informed that there will be a 2% quota for vocational students. Ponmudy talked about an existing scheme for polytechnic students. The scheme allows polytechnic students to join in the second year of engineering courses. He also talked about the commencement of classes for engineering courses. The minister said that the classes for second and third year engineering classes would start from July 18. “Firstyear classes will start after the CBSE results,” said the minister.

Class for First-year engineering students to begin after CBSE 12 results 2022

The enrollment for engineering colleges this year will be higher than last year, the minister added while talking about Tamil Nadu engineering admissions 2022. So far, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2022 has witnessed online registration from 85,902 students. The higher education minister informed that this year around 15,000 female students applied for Tamil Nadu engineering admissions 2022 as 15,000 applications have been received for a higher education scheme that gives INR 1,000 a month to girl students.
