IIM Calcutta to offer APSPM course for mid and senior executives

Candidates who will successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and will also be eligible for executive education alumni status at IIM Calcutta.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta will be launching a 9-month Advanced Programme in Strategic Project Management (APSPM) soon. The programme to be launched in collaboration with Eruditus intends to upskill mid and senior executives. An official statement released by IIM Calcutta states that the APSPM course is designed to provide formal training to senior executives in project and portfolio management and to help them make use of the required tools and techniques.

According to the institute, IIM-Calcutta APSPM includes leadership and communication training that can help the students to take up leadership roles. Candidates who will successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion and will also be eligible for executive education alumni status at IIM Calcutta.

Talking about the launch of the programme, Sudhakara Reddy, professor IIM Calcutta said, “The programme from IIM Calcutta has been specifically designed for senior executives looking for upskilling in project and portfolio management. The curriculum helps participants acquaint with the concepts of project and portfolio management, and the advanced tools and techniques to implement in different businesses scenarios.”

“Projects are a fundamental part of every company’s business plan. This programme would help the executives attain a competitive edge in their domain. The program would also help the individuals gain an end-to-end understanding of project management and portfolio management from planning to execution; learn the tactical, operational and behavioural aspects of project management; apply new concepts, such as agile management techniques, to daily operational challenges; evaluate and manage projects and teams effectively and enhance the ability to make high-level strategic decisions and drive change. This programme would thus enable the executives to plan and manage the projects in an effective way,” said Mohan Kannegal, CEO, India and APAC, Eruditus.
