IIM-V Admissions 2022 witness 50% increase in MBA enrolment numbers

72% of these nearly 300 candidates have work experience. The average work experience of the batch is nearly two years. 80% of the batch belong to engineering/technology streams.

IIM-V Admissions 2022: Nearly 294 students got enrolled under its flagship post-graduate programme (PGP/MBA) for the 2022-24 batch of the Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam. Last year, approximately 196 students were enrolled in this programme. According to the data, IIM-V Admissions 2022 witnessed an increase of 50% in the admission numbers. As the national institute of management has shifted to its permanent campus in Gambheeram, the IIM increased its intake capacity for the fresh batch. The classes for the first year PGP students will be offered from the state-of-the-art campus being readied in the suburbs of Visakhapatnam.

IIM-V increases seat intake after shifting to permanent campus

In order to pave way for the fresh admissions to become the first occupants at the new campus, the institute has completed academic and hostel blocks and other needed amenities for the students at its Gambheeram campus. While about 12,000 CAT-qualified candidates expressed their interest to gain admission, the premier business school screened and evaluated about 6,000 applications and interviewed about 3,000 candidates for its nearly 300-seat intake.

The diverse batch comes from nearly 21 states of the country. 72% of these nearly 300 candidates have work experience. The average work experience of the batch is nearly two years. 80% of the batch belong to engineering/technology streams. IIM-Visakhapatnam inaugurated its eighth batch of PGP, the fourth batch of PhD programme, and fourth batch of the post-graduate programme in management for experienced professionals (executive MBA) on Saturday.

The inaugural event was attended by the Chief operating officer of Bain Capability Network Manish Goyal as the chief guest. According to IIM-Vizag director M Chandrasekhar, the first phase of construction of the permanent campus will be completed by the year-end.
